With comings and goings commonplace across the industry, OPTX, Mohegan Gaming and Entertainment and the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians, all feature in our latest rundown of a number of recent manoeuvres.

Mohegan Gaming and Entertainment

Mohegan Gaming and Entertainment has appointed Raymond Lin as Chief Legal Officer to develop the group’s legal and compliance strategy.

Reporting directly to MGE President and CEO Ray Pineault, Lin’s role will include “planning and implementing the broad legal aspects of creating a strong business that holds itself to a higher standard of accountability for financial discipline, disclosure, legal compliance, planning, and strategic direction”.

Lin will provide advice to executive management on legal matters in commercial transactions, regulatory issues, international and domestic policy-making decisions, and formulating business, operational and legal strategies.

“We are pleased to welcome Ray Lin to our executive leadership team to ensure maximum protection of our legal rights and obligations across all of our properties,” Pineault said.

“With more than 25 years of experience in the legal field representing both gaming and non-gaming transactions, Ray’s leadership and expertise will contribute to MGE’s continued growth and success.”

San Manuel Band of Mission Indians

The San Manuel Band of Mission Indians has named Daniel D’Arrigo as Chief Financial Officer for the tribe’s entire enterprise.

He joins San Manuel following more than 25 years experience in senior finance and capital markets roles in the gaming, leisure and hospitality industry across an array of organisations.

D’Arrigo previously served as Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer of MGM Resorts International in Las Vegas, where he oversaw domestic and international financial functions, including corporate finance, treasury, shared services, internal audit, and investor relations

“As Chief Financial Officer, Dan will play a critical role in leading the tribe’s fiscal strategy, growth and development,” commented Laurens Vosloo, Chief Executive Officer for the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians. 

“One of Dan’s greatest strengths is his credibility with the investment community and capital markets. We are very pleased that Dan is joining our team at a time when the tribe is experiencing tremendous growth and has such great potential for new opportunities.”

OPTX

Steve Bright has joined Las Vegas-based casino data software group OPTX as Vice President of Data Science, where he will lead a team that designs, develops, tests, and monitors new artificial intelligence features for its data modules

Prior to joining the group, Bright is lauded as working as a data scientist across a number of industries, as well as having over 30 published papers in fields running from experimental high energy physics to pharmacovigilance (drug safety). 

He also has several years of experience applying data science to problems in the gaming industry, including machine learning algorithms to forecast and optimise slot floor performance.

The data intelligence used by OPTX creates actionable recommendations for casino operators, provides real-time individualised insights to ensure that no actionable player is missed, and aims to empower teams to spend less time compiling data and more implementing strategies that increase guest visitation, revenue, and profitability.

Entain

Entain has hired Brian Lancey to serve as Chief Marketing Officerof its Unikrn esports brand that will be re-launched later this year.

An expert in enterprise marketing and brand development for new ventures, Lancey joins Unikrn’s leadership team from Mastercard, where he previously served as Global VP of Sponsorships and Consumer Marketing.

He will be charged with spearheading Unikrn’s new brand development, as Entain seeks to develop the leading esports entertainment platform for a generation of new audiences.  

Confirming his appointment via LinkedIn, Lancey commented: “I am excited to share that I joined Entain’s esport team, Unikrn, as the Chief Marketing Officer.

“Entain, a global leader in betting, gaming and interactive entrainment, is paving the way for the future of the industry. I look forward to building the esports business with the incredible team and inspiring leadership.”

XLMedia

XLMedia has confirmed the appointment of Marcus Rich as Non-Executive Chair of the London AIM-listed online gambling media group.

Rich succeeds Christopher Bell, who at the start of year announced his resignation as XLMedia Chair, choosing to join restructured Spanish gambling group Nueva Codere.

“On behalf of the board, I am delighted to welcome Marcus to XLMedia, who brings a wealth of digital publishing and capital markets experience to this role,” said Julie Markey, Interim Non-Executive Chair of XLMedia.
