The Dutch Gambling Authority, Kansspelautoriteit, has detailed the issuance of a cease and desist order against Gammix Limited for the illegal offer of online games of chance.

The regulator stated that if the operator does not stop with its offer then the company “will have to pay a penalty of €1.47m per week”. This could amount to a maximum of almost €4.5m.

The Ksa also noted that during March 2022, via the NordSlot and Rant Casino sites, it was possible to create a player account from the Netherlands, make a deposit and participate in games of chance.

Gammix, which boasts a network of 20 online casinos, such as Touch Casino, DBosses Casino, Flaming Casino and Rigged Casino, among others, has a type one gaming services approval from the Malta Gaming Authority for all of the group’s igaming entities.

Regarding the order issued to Gammix, the Ksa stated: “The Ksa has established that Gammix offers games of chance to Dutch consumers via various websites. Gammix Ltd is not licensed to do so.

“As a result, no supervision is possible, which means that there is no control over, among other things, the fairness of the game and whether sufficient attention is paid to addiction prevention.”

Adding: “Since October 1 2021, online games of chance in the Netherlands have been legalised under strict conditions. The objective is to create a safe environment for people who want to gamble online. This includes taking a strict approach to illegal providers.”

Last week, the Ksa issued a reminder that licensed entities within the country risk a fine if valid public key infrastructure certifications are not held.

The regulator published the note to draw the attention of gambling providers to the fact that games of chance may only be offered with valid PKI authorisation.

Without the necessary certification, it is not possible to check whether players are registered in the Central Register of Exclusion of Chances (Cruks). It is not permitted within the country to give players access to a game of chance without Cruks control.
