Flutter Entertainment is reportedly in advanced talks to name John Bryant as its next board chairman, replacing Gary McGann, who has been in post since 2015.

According to Sky News, the FTSE-100 company is expected to make a US-based appointment as its new chairman as part of its plans to list on the US stock exchange.

Previously the President and CEO of Kellogg Company between 2011 and 2017, Bryant is currently a Non-Executive Director of Coca-Cola Europacific Partners PLC, Ball Corporation, Compass Group, and Macy’s Inc.

The report states that Bryant’s appointment is “at an advanced stage”, but added it is “yet to be finalised” and it is still unclear if other candidates are still in contention for the position.

It is also speculated that Flutter will reveal its next chairman at its annual shareholder meeting on April 27.

During the AGM, shareholders will also vote on the company’s listing on the US stock exchange, a move that corporate governance has put forward to help promote FanDuel as the outright market leader in US sports betting.

Flutter noted that the US listing would secure access to “much deeper capital” markets and enable it to retain American talent more easily, as FanDuel has ambitions to be worth over $40bn by 2030.
