Betway has detailed a multi-year commercial tie-up with Playtech, as the online gambling group also sees Sweden’s Administrative Court in Linköping reject an appeal regarding bonus violations.
The court found that Betway violated the bonus ban as a result of a marketing incident that saw a warning and penalty fee of SEK 100,000 issued in December 2021.
Gaming companies with a Swedish licence may only offer their customers a bonus at the first gaming opportunity, however, Betway saw a marketing campaign with a 200 per cent match bonus allow players to take advantage more than once.
According to the court, the Spelinspektionen was justified in deciding on the reprimand and the penalty fee, despite corrective action being undertaken upon discovery of the infringement. The court also found that the size of the penalty fee was proportionate.
Elsewhere, Betway has also launched a range of Playtech titles after teaming-up with the gambling tech firm in a bid to provide “new, exciting, and engaging gaming experiences”.
