Jackpocket Casino, the online casino offering of US lottery app Jackpocket, has become the first US operator to receive Internet Compliance Assessment Program certification.

Provided by the National Council on Problem Gambling, the certification is said to represent ‘the highest standard’ of US online responsible gambling and has been handed to Jackpocket due to its ‘demonstrated dedication to player safety’.

The certification will be valid for two years and has been administered following a ‘rigorous evaluation’, coming in the form of an audit completed by responsible gambling consultancy firm Gambling Integrity

“Our mission to provide a fun and responsible online casino experience rests on ensuring the highest levels of safety and security. Every step we take is with the goal of safeguarding our users,” said Jackpocket CEO and Founder, Peter Sullivan

“We are proud of the fact that with Jackpocket Casino, players can confidently participate in their favourite games, knowing that their safety is not only a priority but also professionally validated by the NCPG.”

The operator demonstrated its ability to protect players through features such as customisable play limits, with players able to restrict deposits, spending, playtime and logged-in time levels.

Jackpocket Casino also offers time-out and self-exclusion abilities within its platform, allowing customers to suspend their gaming activity for specified durations.

Keith Whyte, NCPG Executive Director, added: “In achieving iCAP accreditation, Jackpocket Casino has emerged as a pioneer in prioritising player protection and responsible gambling practices within the US igaming landscape.”

“We applaud Jackpocket for emphasising the safety of their users and for setting an exemplary standard for the industry.”

The certification comes shortly after it was announced that DraftKings agreed to acquire Jackpocket for a total consideration of $750m, which was revealed alongside the operator’s Q4 2023 results

Jason Robins, Co-Founder and CEO at DraftKings, commented on the acquisition: “We are very excited to enter the rapidly growing US digital lottery vertical with our acquisition of Jackpocket.

“This transaction will create significant value for DraftKings not only by giving our customers another differentiated product to enjoy but also by improving our overall marketing efficiency similar to how our daily fantasy sports database created an advantage for DraftKings in online sports betting and igaming.”
