It has been confirmed that CEO of Star Entertainment Robbie Cook is standing down alongside Christina Katsibouba, who will leave her role as CFO.

Cook, who has held the position since 2022, will be replaced by current Chairman David Foster as the company continues to search for a permanent replacement to spearhead the growth of the company.

It comes as Star comes under intensified regulatory scrutiny, as the recently-launched New South Wales Independent Casino Commission (NICC) looks to gain a more detailed view of the company’s financial position.

Cook commented: “Whilst I find the position exceptionally disappointing, I have reached the conclusion that my continuation in the group CEO role is not going to be conducive to the NICC determining to find The Star capable of becoming suitable to hold a casino licence in NSW.

“In these circumstances a change in leadership provides the best opportunity for the business to navigate the regulatory pressure it is facing.

“I take comfort in what we have achieved as a team over the last 16 months, and I’m certain the company is now on the right path.”

Katsibouba will also step down as CFO and be replaced on an interim basis by Neale O’Connell.

Foster commented on her departure: “Christina stepped into the CFO role following the Bell inquiry in 2022.

“After two challenging years she has decided the time is right to move on. She leaves with both the board’s and my personal thanks, for her tireless efforts as CFO and as an executive with the group. We wish her well.”
