Fantasy sports operator Underdog has partnered with Sportradar in a collaboration that promises to expand player protection initiatives and improve responsible gaming tools.

Underdog was founded in 2020 and has since become one of the fastest-growing sports companies in the US, with a portfolio that includes fantasy sports contests, licensed sports betting, and a growing media network.

The company has recently partnered with Crypto.com to introduce sports prediction markets, marking its expansion into new digital products.

Sportradar is a global sports technology provider that collaborates with organizations such as the NBA, NHL, and FIFA, supplying data and integrity services across over a million sporting events annually.

The companies announced the partnership on September 24, with Underdog set to leverage Sportradar’s technology to strengthen its monitoring and intervention systems.

Focus on Player Protection

As stated in the press release, the partnership will bring advanced monitoring capabilities to the Underdog platform, enabling the company to identify at-risk behaviors using Sportradar’s Bettor Sense AI-powered technology.

Sportradar’s technology is designed to track betting patterns and flag indicators associated with problem gambling, allowing operators to respond with personalized messaging and interventions.

“Collaborating with Sportradar to integrate Bettor Sense is another step in Underdog’s proactive approach to enhanced player protection across all entry types,” said Adam Warrington, VP of Responsible Gaming at Underdog.

Besides helping Underdog spot the early signs of problem gambling, the companies explained: “This unique player protection and wellbeing program not only identifies individuals exhibiting problem gambling behavior through Bettor Sense’s AI-powered technology, but also offers access to care services from Birches Health, a national leader in evidence-based treatment to address gambling disorders.”

The initiative is designed to go beyond detection, matching at-risk players to real support in an effort to raise the bar for responsible gaming safeguards.

Tech Integration & Support Tools

With this collaboration, Underdog becomes the first US-based operator to use Bettor Sense, which launched in July 2025, to support its responsible gaming efforts.

Sportradar says Bettor Sense provides operators with a way to be proactive in identifying gamblers experiencing problems. The program is designed to facilitate real-time risk scoring and player profile analysis.

Jim Brown, Head of Integrity Services & Athlete Wellbeing at Sportradar, said: “We applaud Underdog for taking this meaningful step to not only safeguard, but also to provide resources to players who exhibit potential problem gaming behavior. Sportradar’s expertise and innovative solutions are designed to not only address the needs of our clients but also to support a secure and sustainable industry.”

Now that Bettor Sense is going live on Underdog, other operators in the US will likely keep an eye on the rollout as they weigh their own options for player protection and regulatory compliance.
