The rapid expansion of Artificial Intelligence (AI) has permeated almost every aspect of life. It still struggles with sports betting, however.
Sportsbooks are increasingly using AI. ChatBet launched version 3 of its AI chatbot betting assistant in Latin America last month.
FanDuel and DraftKings are also investing in the technology. FanDuel AceAI launched over a year ago in closed beta, but the parent company, Flutter, says that the feature is now available to 50% of users. It has processed 158,000 queries to date.
FanDuel co-founder Nigel Eccles said AI still has a long way to go. Eccles, who is now CEO of BetHog, said his company tested AI as a betting assistant, but it picked the wrong outcome in matches that had already taken place.
DraftKings submitted a U.S. patent application for similar AI technology, but it was rejected last month. The tool appears similar to FanDuel’s; users can ask it questions to get stats and odds. In one example from the patent, it tells a user the odds of their selection and prompts them with recommendations to add to a parlay.
The company can still appeal against the rejected patent. Not wanting to be left behind its rival, it will almost certainly launch an AI tool in the near future.
Which ChatBot is Best at Betting?
An article in the Bristol Post this week tested out Gemini as a source of betting tips. In five soccer tips, Google’s AI tool won once and lost the other four bets. Placing an even £10 stake on each recommendation, Angus McIntyre won £32.50 for a total loss of £17.50 from his £50.
“I wouldn’t say I massively enjoyed the experience, and obviously, you’d need to do it over a huge number of matches to get an accurate gauge on value,” McIntyre told CasinoBeats via email.
That got us interested in seeing which of the main AI chatbots would turn the most profit. A previous study showed that large language models (LLMs) can display signs of gambling addiction. In particular, Gemini was found to chase losses, meaning it might not be the best to ask for tips.
We kept it simple and provided ChatGPT, Google Gemini, DeepAI, and QuillBot the same prompt: “Recommend a bet for today.”
ChatGPT
Response: If you’re looking for a single bet rather than a long list, I’d lean toward the New York Yankees moneyline vs. Cleveland.
Why I like it:
- Multiple predictive models have the Yankees as one of the strongest favorites on today’s MLB slate, with around a 65% win probability.
- The Yankees are among the top-rated teams in 2026 and continue to be viewed as a leading World Series contender.
- Several betting previews today rank the Yankees among the stronger moneyline plays on the board.
Bet: New York Yankees to beat Cleveland Guardians (-245 DraftKings)
Result: Cleveland 9, New York Yankees 4 Bet Lost -$10
Gemini
Response: For today’s action (Tuesday, June 2, 2026), international football friendlies take center stage as teams prepare for the upcoming World Cup, alongside the quarterfinals of the French Open.
Here are the top-rated value bets from around the markets today, depending on what sport you prefer to follow:
⚽ The Football “Over 2.5 Goals” Double
Many expert tipsters are eyeing goals in today’s international fixtures, as teams are experimenting with lineups and playing with less defensive rigidity.
- Wales vs. Ghana: Over 2.5 Goals. Both teams have shown vulnerabilities at the back recently, with over 2.5 goals landing in most of Ghana’s recent road games and Wales both scoring and conceding frequently.
- Morocco vs. Madagascar: Over 2.5 Goals. Morocco has a powerful frontline (putting five past Burundi recently) and historic dominance in this fixture, while Madagascar’s matches have trended high-scoring.
- Combined Double Odds: Generally floating around 3/1 (+300) depending on your bookmaker.
Bet: Wales v Ghana (+125) and Morocco v Madagascar (-260) Over 2.5 Goals Double (+211 FanDuel)
Result: Wales 1, Ghana 1; Morocco 4, Madagascar 0. Bet Lost -$10
DeepAI: The Responsible ChatBot
DeepAI refused to provide a tip.
Response: I’m here to help, but I can’t provide specific betting advice or recommendations. However, I can offer some general tips for responsible betting:
- Research thoroughly before placing any bets.
- Set a budget and stick to it.
- Focus on sports or events you’re knowledgeable about.
- Avoid chasing losses.
- Remember that betting should be for entertainment, not a way to make money.
If you’re interested in recent sports news or statistics to inform your decisions, I can help with that!”
Result: No bet. Kept $10
QuillBot
Response: Here are some recommended bets for today, June 2, 2026:
NBA:
- Oklahoma City Thunder vs. San Antonio Spurs: Thunder to cover the spread at -3.5.
MLB:
- Seattle Mariners vs. New York Mets: Mariners to win on the moneyline at -143.
Tennis (French Open):
- Joao Fonseca vs. Jakub Mensik: Under 38.5 total games at -120 odds.
Please remember to gamble responsibly.
Wanting only one recommendation, we asked for the best bet of those three options, and it then added:
Generally, moneyline bets like the Mariners to win are simpler and often safer for casual bettors. So, the Mariners moneyline could be considered the best overall option for most bettors today.
Bet: Seattle Mariners to beat New York Mets (-143 DraftKings)
Result: Seattle Mariners 8, New York Mets 3. Bet Won +$6.99
Conclusion
From this one-day experiment, QuillBot came out on top, with the responsible DeepAI in second place by not recommending any bets. But with a sample size of one bet each, it is not enough to draw any meaningful conclusions.
We will continue the competition to see if that is a trend or a one-off. Check back for the results at a later date.
