CoinPoker has launched the Daily Dollar, a daily $1 tournament with a $1,000 guaranteed prize pool that will rise to $5,000 on Sundays through the Daily Dollar Sunday Edition.
The launch also introduced a new ticket-based reward for micro-stakes tournament players, as well as freerolls and satellites for Daily Dollar tickets.
A New Daily Fixture for CoinPoker’s Schedule
The Daily Dollar began on August 13 and has become a daily fixture on CoinPoker’s schedule, running every day except Sunday for a $1 buy-in and $1,000 guarantee.
On Sundays, the format is replaced by the Daily Dollar Sunday Edition, which keeps the $1 buy-in but raises the guaranteed prize pool to $3,000. After only a single weekend of hosting the event, CoinPoker revealed on Monday that the Daily Dollar Sunday Edition would now have a $5,000 guarantee, effective immediately.
Mario Mosböck has already called it the “smallest buy-in trophy event in the world,” referring to the Sunday Edition.
CoinPoker says that guarantees at this low buy-in level have typically appeared on its schedule only from time to time. The Daily Dollar is designed to make them a daily fixture, with a weekly trophy to celebrate the Sunday Edition winners.
The main goal of this event appears to be to put meaningful prizes in front of micro-stakes players and provide consistent opportunities throughout the week to win them.
First Sunday Edition Beats Guarantee on Opening Weekend
The first Daily Dollar Sunday Edition ran on August 16, drawing 3,740 entries from 2,375 unique players, including 1,365 re-entries.
The event beat its $3,000 guarantee, paying out a total prize pool of $3,440.
Dnxx won the tournament from three entries, taking home $453.92 (151x their buy-in cost) and becoming the first winner to add a Daily Dollar Sunday Edition trophy to their CoinPoker Trophy Cabinet.
On the upcoming Sunday, August 23, the guarantee for this event will permanently increase by around 66% to $5,000.
Sunday Edition Winners Earn Trophy Cabinet Award
Winners of the Daily Dollar Sunday Edition each receive a digital award added to their CoinPoker Trophy Cabinet.
The Trophy Cabinet is a CoinPoker feature that collects and displays major tournament wins on a player’s profile, which is visible to others on their Career page.
CoinPoker has previously given this award to winners of various flagship series. The Sunday Edition is the first micro-stakes tournament to carry it.
Ways to Enter the Daily Dollar
Entry into the Daily Dollar and Daily Dollar Sunday Edition is available through multiple routes:
- A direct $1 buy-in via the Tournament lobby
- $0.10 satellites awarding 25 tickets each to the Daily Dollar
- Freerolls awarding 100 tickets each to the Daily Dollar
- CoinPoker states on its website that “Playing micro-stakes tournaments could earn you up to three Daily Dollar tickets per week, also usable for the Sunday Edition.”
Micro-stakes players have multiple paths to enter this event, and two of them are completely free.
Daily Dollar Offers More Ways to Play at CoinPoker
The Daily Dollar’s launch comes alongside two other major tournament series on CoinPoker’s current schedule.
The CoinMillion, CoinPoker’s monthly flagship tournament, crowned its third champion on August 10 with a $215 buy-in and $1,000,000 guarantee. It returns for four consecutive Sundays during the GOPC, beginning September 6.
The Global Online Poker Championship (GOPC) begins August 23 and runs through September 28, with a $50,000,000 guarantee across more than 700 Medal Events.
