“Vegas Matty” Simo has been covering the sports gambling scene in Las Vegas for nearly 30 years and also currently runs the largest football contest proxy service in Nevada. A Chicagoland native and 1995 graduate of Syracuse University, Matty has built a strong network of sportsbook and betting connections while freelancing for a variety of media outlets over that time, including both newspapers and websites.

After writing for the Wheaton Daily Journal, Daily Herald and Aurora Beacon-News in suburban Chicago between his high school and college years, Matty originally moved to Vegas in 1996 and worked with Computer Sports World, DBC Sports and Las Vegas Sports Consultants (LVSC) alongside legendary oddsmaker Michael “Roxy” Roxborough. He wrote a daily syndicated column with Roxborough called Sportsbook Insider that was featured in USA Today.

Matty then spent six years in California working in online marketing before returning to Vegas in 2005 to become the GM of Content at Pregame.com and later Content Coordinator at Don Best Sports. His freelance writing experience includes articles for Vegas Insider, SportsLine, OddsShark, The Linemakers and Gambling.com.

In addition, Matty has been the leading proxy for the past 20 years and founded FootballContest.com in 2013, serving clients who have won over $15 million in prize money competing in the SuperContest, SuperContest Gold, Circa Million and Circa Survivor. A proxy is required to participate in these football contests if entrants live out of state and cannot submit picks themselves.
