The Nevada Gaming Control Board is to investigate the accusations of sexual misconduct surrounding Wynn Resorts CEO Steve Wynn.
Becky Harris, chairperson of the Nevada Gaming Control Board, said in a statement: “After completing our review, the Nevada Gaming Control Board is conducting an investigation with regard to the allegations of sexual misconduct involving Steve Wynn.
“The Nevada Gaming Control Board will conduct its investigation in a thorough and judicious manner.”
Steve Wynn, who recently confirmed plans to open a fourth Wynn venue in Las Vegas, is already facing a similar investigation from the Massachusetts Gaming Commission that could affect his suitability as a licensee in the state, where the $2bn Wynn Boston Harbor is set to open next year.
Wynn Resorts stock (Nasdaq: WYNN) remains about 10 per cent down on its value before the Wall Street Journal first reported on the accusations on Friday, January 26.
Steve Wynn denies the allegations, saying that the idea he “ever assaulted any woman is preposterous,” and blaming for the slurs his ex-wife Elaine, with whom he’s engaged in what he called “a terrible and nasty lawsuit”.
