The $620m refurbishment of the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas received a further boost this week with news that the parking provision at the off-Strip venue can increase in line with increases to the gaming floor, reports the Las Vegas Sun.

Two levels will be added to the parking garage, providing more than 500 additional spaces and bringing the total provision to more than 3,000 spaces.

The proposals, giving the green light by the Clark Country zoning commission this week, will also see a connecting walkway constructed to facilitate access from the adjacent Palms Place to the car park and then to the casino, meaning players moving between the locations will be sheltered from the blistering desert sun.

The major refurbishment project, which is already underway and set to be complete late next year, will see 300 new slots and 16 table games added to the casino floor.
