Spanish casino operator Grupo Orenes has moved to a new headquarters building in the city of Murcia, coming as the company celebrates its 50th anniversary.

The opening ceremony – hosted by company heads Eliseo Orenes and Javier López Cerrón – took place on June 21, with 120 guests visiting the 6,000sq.m site.

The event also welcomed the mayor of Murcia, José Ballesta, and the secretary general of the Ministry of Finance, Luis Martínez Atienza.

Grupo Orenes, which turns over more than €500m a year, now employs more than 2,800 across 11 casinos, 18 bingo halls, 250 gaming rooms and an estate of 6,000 gaming machines in Spain,

Referencing the company’s move into the digital market, CEO López Cerrón said: “Internally, what we are doing is moving from being a mere operator company to developing our own technology.

“We are the first Spanish company to develop our own technological platform.”
