MGM Resorts International has entered an “unprecedented partnership” with Boyd Gaming, designed to significantly drive forward each party’s market access and customer footprint across the US.
Under the terms of the agreement MGM and Boyd are to be presented with the opportunity to offer online and mobile gaming platforms, comprising casino gaming, poker and sports betting, in states which either company operates a physical casino resort and the appropriate licenses are available.
Keith Smith, Boyd Gaming President and CEO, commented: “Our industry is evolving, providing opportunities for growth through new forms of gaming like online and mobile gaming.
“Thanks to our partnership with MGM Resorts, Boyd Gaming will have the opportunity to potentially add an online presence in five additional states, positioning us for significant future growth as our respective companies take a leadership role in our industry’s evolution.”
As part of the market access agreement, each organisation has the opportunity to enhance its online and mobile gaming presence across 15 states, and will include all recently announced acquisitions and the scheduled opening of MGM Springfield on August 24.
Allowing each to leverage scale and create a nationwide approach to online and mobile sports betting, real money casino gaming and poker, MGM is to also provide the acquired market access to its new joint venture with GVC Holdings.
Jim Murren, MGM Resorts Chairman & CEO, added: “We are excited to team yet again with Boyd Gaming on this unprecedented partnership, which allows us to fully engage with the almost 30 million M life Rewards members throughout the country.
