Cordish Gaming Group, a division of the Cordish Companies, has announced the appointment of Joe Billhimer as executive vice president.

As part of his new role, Billhimer will be responsible for taking the reins on the company’s expansion into the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania with the development of two new live casinos properties in Pittsburgh and Philadelphia.

Billhimer most recently served as the chief operating officer of Eldorado Resorts in Reno, NV, and has more than 25 years of gaming and hospitality experience. His previous roles include president of MTR Gaming, prior to its merger with Eldorado Resorts, CEO of Premier Entertainment, as well as leadership positions at Foundation Gaming Group, Caesars Entertainment’s Grand Casino Resort in Gulfport, MS, and Casino Magic Bay in St. Louis, MS.

The new Live! Casino and Hotel Philadelphia is said to be a ‘world-class’ gaming, dining and entertainment destination and scheduled to open in early 2021. The adjacent property in Pittsburgh is said to be a 100,00 square-foot facility which features 750 slots and electronic table games and has 30 live action table games and sportsbooks.
