Arizona’s Casino Del Sol has detailed the official opening of Tucson’s first retail sportsbook, with the gaming property seeing its new entity powered by Scientific Games’ OpenSports technology.
The facility, owned and operated by the Pascua Yaqui Tribe, officially debuted on Thursday 18 November at 10am (local time), and invited guests to watch and wager on a variety of professional and college sporting events.
“Our ability to offer sports wagering to our guests has been many years in the making, and we are elated to see our vision come to fruition with SolSports,” said Peter Yucupicio, chair of the Pascua Yaqui Tribe.
“This new gaming option will have a positive economic impact on our tribe and the state of Arizona.”
SolSports is a 4,000-square-foot venue with more than 60 televisions, including jumbo flat screens and a high-definition video wall, six live ticket writer counters and eight self-service betting kiosks, with “luxury seating” able to accommodate more than 100 individuals.
“Our team developed a truly fantastic environment for sports fans to enjoy all of the game day action, and we are thrilled to welcome Tucsonans to experience the excitement of in-person sports betting at SolSports,” commented Kimberly Van Amburg, CEO of Casino Del Sol.
The tribe rolled-out its partnership with Scientific Games earlier this year, marking the company’s maiden entrance into the region.
