Novibet to enter New Jersey, Mexico and Ontario as growth gathers pace

The Novibet global growth strategy has gathered considerable pace, with the igaming and online sports betting operator poised to enter a trifecta of North American markets.

The first of these is via a multi-year tie-up with Caesars Entertainment that will secure access to New Jersey’s online casino and sports wagering arena, subject to the necessary licences and approvals being gained.

Following a similar ten-year agreement secured for Pennsylvania earlier this year, excluding online poker or a digital sportsbook, Novibet will operate its online portal for the same time frame in the Garden State on an initial basis. The group plans to launch in both states next year,

Furthermore, a market access agreement for online gaming and sports wagering has also been disclosed for Mexico via an alliance with Big Bola Casinos, one of 14 firms authorised to offer such services.

As a result of the partnership alongside Big Bola, which operates 20 casinos across the nation and will share revenue generated by Novibet.mx, the company is plotting a launch during the second half of the current year.

Finally, the group has also commenced its licence application with the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario, and plans to debut in the province during the fourth quarter of the year if approved. Further provinces are expected to follow.

A proposed business combination alongside the Artemis Strategic Investment SPAC is also expected to close during H2 2022, subject to approval by shareholders and other customary closing conditions.

“The expansion of our icasino platform into new regulated markets, including in North America, is a major pillar of our growth strategy,” stated George Athanasopoulos, Chief Executive Officer of Novibet.

“We’re pleased with our progress against this initiative as evidenced by our expanded partnership with Caesars Entertainment that now provides us with market access to New Jersey and Pennsylvania to address the significant OSB and igaming opportunities in those states, as well as our new partnership with Big Bola to introduce our highly regarded igaming and OSB products to players in Mexico later this year.

“Our focus on ensuring our technology platform, product offerings and customer engagement and retention initiatives are fully aligned and in sync with local player preferences has allowed us to enter new markets through our differentiated, engaging online gaming experience.

“We expect to replicate this success in the new North American markets we enter by remaining true to our operating disciplines and leveraging the proven popularity of our product offerings that feature more than 5,000 video slots, 220 live table games and 180 progressive jackpot games from over 120 online content providers as well as an innovative sports betting offering following the receipt of required respective regulatory approvals.”
