Saratoga Casino Holdings has officially closed the acquisition of Magnolia Bluffs Casino Hotel, and has subsequently appointed Tim Morrissey as the facility’s Vice President and General Manager.

The Natchez, Mississippi, located gaming venue officially joined the group’s network earlier this week (Monday 3 October), and brought with it more than 450 slot machines, 14 table games, restaurant and bar, sportsbook and a 141-room hotel located off-site in the heart of the city.

SCH also owns and operates New York’s Saratoga Casino Hotel, which features over 1,200 slots, electronic table games, a live entertainment venue, a variety of dining options and bars, live harness racing, and simulcast wagering.

Furthermore, the group also boasts the Saratoga Casino Black Hawk as part of its network, which contains over 380 slot machines, six table games, a full-service restaurant, bar and a variety of guest services.

Elsewhere, the firm is a partner with Delaware North in the operation of Gideon Putnam Resort and Roosevelt Baths which can both be found in Saratoga Springs.

“We are excited to add Magnolia Bluffs to our family and bring our experience in hospitality to Mississippi,” shared Sam Gerrity, Chief Executive Officer for Saratoga Casino Holdings.

Morrissey, who brings over 12 years of experience in the gaming industry to the role, will oversee the day-to-day operations and work with the existing team to drive the property to further success.

Morrissey joined Saratoga two years ago and has been serving as GM of the company’s Black Hawk venue. Prior to this he served as Senior Director of Operations for the Flandreau Santee Sioux Tribe in South Dakota, where he oversaw the $30m renovation and expansion of Royal River Casino & Hotel.

“With Tim’s proven ability to have a positive and immediate impact on both financial results and company culture, we felt he was the natural fit to lead the Magnolia Bluffs team and bring the property into the SCH family,” Gerrity added.

“Every member of the Magnolia Bluffs team has been extremely welcoming,” said Morrissey. “I’m excited to continue the success of this property alongside the current team. I look forward to getting to know each of them, as well as our guests, on a personal level.”
