Betfred has made its “long-awaited” debut at the Mohegan Casino as it launches its sportsbook, with the help of UNLV Rebels and former Cincinnati Bengals star Elbert Woods.
Launching Betfred at Mohegan Sun Sportsbook, located inside the Virgin Hotels Las Vegas, part of Curio Collection by Hilton, the sportsbook includes luxury seating, a video wall with high-definition TVs and over-the-counter wagering.
This sportsbook launch marks the first steps into Nevada by Betfred, founded in 1967 by brothers Fred and Peter Done, after the UK-based firm first entered the US sports betting market in 2019.
To commemorate the opening, former Bengals running back Woods placed the ceremonial first bet on Philadelphia to win the Super Bowl LVII followed by a signature “Ickey Shuffle” for good luck.
Betfred owns and operates over 1,400 betting shops in the United Kingdom and is currently licensed in Iowa, Pennsylvania, Colorado, Louisiana, Arizona, Washington, Maryland, Virginia, Ohio and Nevada.
In addition, Betfred is the partner of the Cincinnati Bengals, Denver Broncos and Vegas Golden Knights.
Betfred at Mohegan Sun Sportsbook is operated by Mohegan Casino Las Vegas. Betfred manages Betfred at Mohegan Sun Sportsbook and provides services pertaining to sports pool for the operator.
The partnership comes after the firm detailed a partnership with Vegas Golden Knights in a multi-year agreement that designated Betfred as an official sports betting partner of the NHL franchise.
