With comings and goings commonplace across the industry, Svenska Spel, Senet and AGS have moved to bolster their teams with key hires.
Senet
Bree Ryan, former Deputy General Counsel Wagering and Media at Tabcorp, has become the latest addition to Senet after joining as a Senior Associated.
At the Australian specialist gambling law firm, she joins former Tabcorp colleagues and Senet Principals Julian Hoskins, Daniel Lovecek and Senior Associate Caitlin McCombe to further bolster the firm’s specialist gambling industry capability.
Ryan represents Australian and international clients across a wide variety of complex legal and regulatory matters, with particular specialisation in wagering, racing and media.
“Our gambling law and compliance advisory practice is one of the largest and most experienced in Australia,” commented Hoskins.
“Brees’ expertise will complement the team and provide increased capabilities to support our clients with their gambling law and regulation related matters. Bree also brings a strong network of connections with domestic and international operators active in the Australian market.”
Svenska Spel
As revenues remain steady, and amid a renewed focus on safer and sustainable gambling, Svenska Spel has appointed a new HR lead.
Anna-Clara Fredriksson has been named as the Swedish state-backed betting group’s Chief Human Resources Officer, where she is set to take up the role on 8 May.
Specifics of Fredriksson’s position will include responsibility for fostering corporate culture and development of an HR strategy, leveraging her background as a Director for multi-jurisdictional businesses.

Scott Saunders is to join beleaguered Australian casino and entertainment operator Star Entertainment Group as Chief Risk Officer, pending all necessary regulatory approvals.
He joins the company from Westpac where he was General Manager, Financial Crime and Chief Compliance Officer. Prior to this, he was responsible for enterprise and financial crime compliance at Macquarie Group.

AGS
Robert Ziems has joined gaming supplier AGS as Chief Legal Officer, effective immediately, where he will hope to utilise more than 24 years of relevant experience to lead legal and compliance functions and oversee the group’s Latin America and interactive business strategy.
He joins the company from Aruze Gaming America, where he served for over 12 years. Most recently he served as President of Aruze, Global Chief Legal Officer of Aruze Gaming Group, and Corporate Secretary.
At the company, Ziems led global legal affairs, regulatory compliance, and global human resources. In addition, he also oversaw operating efficiencies, business development and procurement in the Americas.

“He has deep gaming and regulatory experience combined with a forward-thinking and collaborative leadership approach.”
