Stake has made its maiden voyage into Colombia, hailing the nation as an ‘ideal destination’ after the online casino operator acquired Betfair Colombia and its licence.
The acquisition of Betfair Colombia and its licence that has been approved until 2025 will allow the operator to offer its platform to players in the nation for the first time, building its presence across Latin America’s regulated market.
“Expanding into the Colombian market is a strategic decision that aligns perfectly with our vision for growth and innovation,” commented Brais Pena, Chief Strategy Officer at Easygo, the company behind Stake.
“Colombia’s position as the first regulated market in Latin America, coupled with its stable environment and robust entertainment industry, makes it an ideal destination for Stake’s expansion, with the intention of being one of the dominant players in the market in two years.”
Hoping to ‘establish itself as a key player within a relatively short time frame’, Stake will aim to garner Colombian players using ‘cutting-edge technology, user-friendly platforms’ and its range of LatAm-focused sponsorships.
These deals include ambassadorships with Argentinian football icon Sergio Kun Aguero and a sponsorship deal with the UFC that saw Stake become the fighting company’s Latin American betting partner.
Pena added: “We view the Colombian market as a pivotal entry point for our Latin American expansion. We are committed to contributing positively to the local economy, fostering innovation, and delivering exceptional entertainment value to our customers.”
