Sparkling special gems have allured SlotBeats into awarding its latest Slot of the Week award to AvatarUX, after the studio presented two new mechanics along with explosive reel extensions and massive multipliers in GemPops.
Featuring the new Xpops and Popscades mechanics, GemPops is a five-reel slot with variable rows, offering up to 32,767 ways to win with a maximum payout of up to x10,000 the player’s bet. The slot has high volatility with an RTP range of 90.5, 94 and 96 per cent.

Throughout the game, the number of rows on each reel will vary on every spin, with a minimum starting size of three and a maximum of five.
When a winning combination appears, the winning symbols are replaced by two symbols as the reels in which the win occurred increase in size. New symbols then drop down to fill in the new spaces for the game’s Popscade feature.
As these XPops wins occur, the reels can become up to seven symbols tall.
Each reel also displays a multiplier above it, which increases by one with each winning symbol that appears in its column.
Once a reel reaches the maximum height of seven, that reel will activate its multiplier for any subsequent wins that occur on the same spin using symbols in that reel.
Bonus diamond scatters can also drop into play, triggering the free spins feature when three or more drop into play.
The free spins awarded to the player will work as follows:
- Three diamonds award five spins with a x1 starting multiplier
- Four diamonds provide eight spins with a x3 multiplier
- Five diamonds give 12 spins and a x5 multiplier
During these free spins, symbols can pop to reveal between one and four extra symbols, increasing the chances of activating the reel multipliers. The maximum height for each reel in the free spins game mode will also increase to eight.
Additionally, each multiplier reel value that is achieved will be implemented into a persistent multiplier in the top left corner of the screen, which will apply to all wins in the remainder of the game mode.
Special bomb symbols can also appear in the feature, causing reels to instantly extend up to the maximum height, awarding the multiplier value for the reel it appears in.
