Ancient Egyptian extraterrestrials clinch SOTW for Tom Horn Gaming

Tom Horn Gaming has placed a sci-fi spin on an ever-popular ancient Egyptian theme with its latest title, Aarupolis, showcasing extraterrestrial wins to clinch SlotBeats’ Slot of the Week

Offering out-of-this-world multipliers wins, Aarupolis presents a 6×5 reel grid with wins coming in the form of scatter-pays. While players can win up to x1,085.3 their stake, the slot uses medium-high volatility and an RTP of 95.2 per cent.

A representative from Tom Horn Gaming commented: “In every new title, we try to bring a novel approach to well-known and popular themes and features. Aarupolis is no different. The game dives deep into the ancient Egypt narrative, enhancing it with a unique sci-fi angle, and comes out dripping with attractive artwork and captivating gameplay.

“We’re positive that Aarupolis will provide players with an unforgettable gaming experience unlike any other.”

The slot’s ancient Egyptian sci-fi theme is completed by an array of extraterrestrial design elements and features, with the slot backdropped by a futuristic pyramid setting.

Low value symbols come in the form of ancient Egyptian hieroglyphics with colours of blue, green, red and purple. If the right number of identical symbols land on a single spin, these hieroglyphics can offer between x0.2 and x8 the player’s wager.

Meanwhile, extraterrestrial ancient Egyptian characters with colours of green, purple, blue and red depict the high value symbols, offering between x1 and x50 the player’s stake.

Winning combinations are formed when eight or more identical symbols appear anywhere across the board, with payouts being provided for up to 20 identical symbols.

Special wild Ra symbols can also appear, expanding to have sizes of 1×2, 1×3 or 1×4 and contributing to any scatter wins that can be formed across the reels.

This slot uses Tom Horn’s BlastX mechanic, causing any winning symbols to disappear after providing their payout, making way for new symbols to drop in from the top of the board.

Each BlastX feature that occurs also increases a multiplier above the reel set, with each subsequent BlastX feature on the same spin able to increase this multiplier from x1 up to x10. Once the multiplier reaches x10, no more BlastX features can occur.

Pyramid scatters are available, triggering the free spins feature when four or more appear on the same spin. In the free spin feature, this BlastX multiplier will not reset in between spins as it does in the base game.

Players can buy access to the free spins feature for the price of x100 their stake using Tom Horn Gaming’s QuickX buy bonus function.

This can also be used to activate an ante bet feature, increasing the player’s stake by 50 per cent – without impacting paytable prizes – to gain triple the chance of activating the free spins game mode.

Additionally, players can buy access to one spin with a guaranteed wild symbol for the price of x15 their stake.
