The World Poker Tour is set to venture to the People’s Republic of China for a Main Tour poker festival, in what is set to be a landmark event. 

In partnership with Allied Gaming & Entertainment (AGAE) and Wynn Macau, WPT will host WPT Macau this summer.

Adam Pliska, WPT CEO, commented on the event: “Macau has long been a sought-after destination for us, wanting to deliver the WPT experience to the region. Thank you to AGAE and Wynn Macau for helping us expand our global footprint. We look forward to an incredible event.”

The WPT Macau festival will run June 18-24 and is headlined by a HK$40,000 buy-in Championship event set for June 20-24. Another notable tournament on the schedule is a WPT High Roller event with a buy-in of HK$200,000, which will run June 19-20.

It will mark the first time WPT puts on an event in Macau, let alone an event carrying the weight of the Mike Sexton WPT Champions Cup.
