Strive Gaming has appointed Ian Smith as its Chief Technology Officer, bringing over two decades of gaming experience to the company.

Hired to lead the platform provider’s technical initiatives, Smith’s gaming career includes leadership roles at William Hill, Rank Group, Flutter Entertainment and Game Play Network.

At Rank, Strive Gaming noted he demonstrated an ability to “drive innovation and scalability within complex environments” when he oversaw the company’s expansion of its player account management and omni-channel experience.

With this experience, the provider added that Smith will assist tribal and commercial casinos as they determine “how to create an ideal connection between land-based and digital experiences”.

Commenting on his appointment, Smith said: “I’m thrilled to join the talented team at Strive Gaming. Having worked with their PAM product from a customer perspective, I have firsthand experience of its quality and potential.

“I am confident that together, we can further evolve the company and achieve our vision of becoming the number one PAM provider in North America.”

Bringing a “hands-on approach to technical leadership” to Strive Gaming, Smith’s experience also includes Class III and Class II gaming, as well as an understanding of US regulatory and technical complexities.

“We are delighted to welcome Ian Smith to Strive Gaming as our new CTO,” added Max Meltzer, CEO of Strive Gaming.

“Ian has rare characteristics; exceptional hands-on skill, experience and yet a sense of calm, humility and above all a desire to help talent around him flourish. This coupled with his extensive industry experience in the gaming industry make him the right person to lead our technical initiatives and helping the business achieve its goals.”
