It’s been a prolific first half of the year for online gaming developer Fazi, with numerous game launches and expansion into new territories. We checked in with the company’s CEO, Bojan Mitic, for a brief update on what’s been happening and to find out more about future plans.
We’re now more than halfway through 2024. Can you give us a snapshot of what trading has been like through the first six months? Has it been a busy period for the company?
The first six months of 2024 have been very busy for FAZI, both in terms of increasing our sales capacity and conquering exciting new markets. We’ve also been successful in hiring new salespeople in Latin America and Africa, while obtaining a licence for Peru. Moreover, we are also expanding into new European markets, Latvia and Lithuania. Additionally, significant efforts have been made to increase our game production capacity by expanding the number of production teams and integrating games from two new studios.
Tell us more about that expansion and the two new studios. What improvements do you think these initiatives will achieve?
With the addition of two new studios, we will be able to significantly expand our game portfolio, enabling more efficient content localization and better adaptation to diverse player preferences. These studios will introduce new game mechanics that FAZI has not previously offered, allowing us to meet a wider range of player expectations and enhance the overall gaming experience.
Tell us about the product launches that have happened and how they have been received by the marketplace?
It has been a prolific period for us, during which we saw a record 40 new games being released into the marketplace. These included some standout new mechanics from FAZI such as Wild Craps which combines two popular casino games, Bonus Epic Crown with a new bonus game, Wild 81 with a new mystery symbol, as well as Football Victory as the current theme this summer in Europe.
What has been the outstanding product development so far and why do you think it has been so successful?
On reflection, I would say that the most successful game in this period has been Bonus Epic Crown. This title features a previously unused method of bonus calculation where the number of lines from the regular game increases fourfold in the bonus and provides additional winning opportunities for players. This mechanism has been very well received by players.
Looking more at the development and growth of the company, what have been the highlights of the first half of 2024. Have there been any new hires or promotions that you’d like to mention?
The most important aspect is the expansion of human capacities which has seen us place incredible focus on investing in our people, their education, and competencies within the business and development sectors of the company. By equipping our team with the necessary skills and knowledge, we aim to increase our capacities and productivity, ensuring significant benefits for this year and the future.
And finally, what is your outlook for the remainder of 2024? What can we look forward to from Fazi and can you share any details on your plans for SBC’s summit in Lisbon?
The highlight for 2024 is certainly the serious entry into the large Latin American market. As for our expectations for the SBC Summit, we are focusing on two continents, Europe and Africa, offering new games, both from FAZI production and from studios that have joined us, including new mechanics. We are dedicated to making a serious approach to content localisation in line with the commercial strategy and market presence.
