Drake has continued his public feud with Stake by highlighting that the site has refused to let him withdraw funds, and publicly stated that he will fight the platform’s owners.
The Canadian rapper closed his Kick account last week amid a fallout with owners Ed Craven and Bijan Tehrani. That brought an end to his livestreams promoting the gambling platform.
Since then, he has posted on social media that he has been unable to withdraw funds and questioned whether it was a personal issue. A screenshot of Drake’s Instagram story showed Stake’s customer service told the singer that his withdrawal attempt had failed.
Drake commented, “4 withdraw attempts blocked on @Stake with no explanation. Is it personal?”
Drake: ‘I’ll Fight These Guys at a Walmart’
In addition, Drake told fellow streamer Adin Ross that he has no intention of repairing the relationship. He went further and said, “I’ll fight these guys at a Walmart, brother, let me know.”
That adds to other comments made last week on a livestream by Trainwreck, who also promoted Stake. In the comments, he posted a picture of Craven and called him a snake. He then added a series of insults against both Craven and Tehrani.
The comments have been spread over social media, and Trainwreck responded by saying he was also considering ending his relationship with the online casino.
Stake has not responded to the insults yet, but it appears there is no way to reconcile the relationship.
Stake Faces Lawsuits in Multiple States
In addition to the backlash against the company from Drake and other promoters, Stake has faced legal challenges from states and users.
The company is facing ongoing court battles in California, Illinois, and Alabama, with users accusing the site of operating illegally.
The site is geoblocked in many countries, including the U.S. and UK, but operates in America through a dedicated Stake.us site.
An increase in bans against sweepstakes casinos, the model the platform uses in the U.S., has increased the legal challenges for the company.
A bill in California threatens to halt operations in the state, but the company has received some backing from an unlikely source, with tribes opposing the legislation this week.
The public fallout with Drake could further damage the site’s reputation. The entertainer’s gambling streams on Kick attracted millions of viewers.
