A BetMGM customer at Borgata Sports in Atlantic City lost a “whopping $1.8 million” after Oregon’s 30-24 upset win against Penn State over the weekend.

The $1.8 million bet on the moneyline at -175 odds would have paid out a shade over $1 million had the Nittany Lions won the game outright.

Penn State struggled offensively for most of the game, and trailed 14-3 with just 12 minutes and change remaining. The Nittany Lions surged back by scoring the final two TDs in regulation, but lost in overtime after quarterback Drew Allar was intercepted.

Oregon Win Helps Cash Huge Parlay at Hard Rock

The Ducks helped one Hard Rock bettor cash a $30K ticket featuring five underdogs on the moneyline. The parlay checked in at odds of +9728 and included:

  • Illinois +200 vs. USC
  • Cincinnati +165 vs. Kansas
  • Wagner +130 vs. Norfolk State
  • Alabama +115 vs. Georgia
  • Oregon +150 vs. Penn State

The five-leg parlay featured three road teams, with “two of them playing in extremely hostile territory: Alabama and Oregon, playing at Georgia and at Penn State, respectively.”

These bets aren’t for the faint of heart. The Hard Rock customer was forced to sweat when his biggest dog, Illinois, squandered a 14-point lead in the second half. The Fighting Illini ultimately won, 34-32, on a field goal in the final seconds.

Cincinnati then needed a TD in the final minute to outlast Kansas, 37-34. Wagner escaped with an 18-13 win over Norfolk State before Alabama and Oregon pulled off their major upsets on Saturday evening.

For his efforts, the bettor was rewarded with a $30,650.59 payout that included a 25% profit boost offer. Not a bad day’s work.

Six-Figure Bets Abound on NFL

The NFL also attracted some massive bets over the weekend. Here are three that paid out nicely for bettors at Caesars and DraftKings.

$276K on Rams -5.5 vs. Colts

The Rams trailed by a TD with just under nine minutes left. LA eked out a 27-20 win and covered the 5.5-point spread on Tutu Atwell‘s 88-yard TD catch with just over a minute remaining. This bet at Caesars cashed a $526,909.09 ticket with a $250,909.09 profit.

$247K on Cowboys +7 (-115) vs. Packers

This Sunday Night Football game between the visiting Packers and Cowboys was a marathon, and it ended in a 40-40 tie. After taking Dallas and the points, one customer at DraftKings profited $224,877.27 on a total payout of $472,242.27.

$218K on Patriots -5.5 vs. Panthers

This game was effectively over when the Patriots went up 28-6 at halftime. Drake Maye carved up the Carolina defense with two passing TDs and a rushing score. A Caesars Sportsbook patron clearly enjoyed the outcome, profiting $191,182 on a total payout of $416,182.
