We’re one month away from Super Bowl 60, and it’s close enough now to consider a few futures bets on the next NFL champion.
It’s been a strange season in some respects. If you’re looking for Super Bowl odds on the Chiefs, you’ll be looking a long time. Kansas City failed to qualify for the postseason after appearing in the AFC Championship Game seven consecutive times.
Meanwhile, Carolina is in the playoffs for the first time since 2017. For long-suffering fans of the Panthers, we won’t quibble about the mediocrity of an 8-9 team hosting a playoff game. It’s just nice to have one again, and Cam Newton’s even coming back to Bank of America Stadium to celebrate the occasion.
Let’s take a look at updated Super Bowl futures from FanDuel before targeting the top favorite, sleeper pick, and underdog to get down on.

Bet This Favorite: Los Angeles Rams (+430)
We made the case for the Rams to reach Super Bowl 60 in this week’s NFC betting preview. The combination of coach Sean McVay and QB Matthew Stafford has already climbed this mountain after winning Super Bowl 56. Don’t discount that experience, and don’t think there’s a more talented NFL team than the Rams when they’re at full strength.
WR Davante Adams (hamstring) will return Saturday against the Panthers. After stints with the bottom-feeding Jets and Raiders, he enjoyed a career renaissance this season with Los Angeles. Despite missing three games, Adams leads all wide receivers with 14 TD catches. He’s Stafford’s absolute go-to in the red zone.
Then there’s Puka Nacua, who’ll likely command the most attention from opposing DBs. He’s second in the league with 1,715 receiving yards and has 11 total TDs.
With Adams and Nacua — and a trio of capable tight ends — leading the way, Stafford threw a league-high 46 TD passes this season. LA also features a potent 1-2 punch out of the backfield with RBs Kyren Williams and Blake Corum. It also owns a top-10 scoring defense. This team is equipped to go the distance.
Bet This Sleeper: Jacksonville Jaguars (+1300)
Nobody’s been playing better than Jacksonville of late. QB Trevor Lawrence helped the Jags clinch the AFC South with three passing TDs in a 41-7 rout of Tennessee. Lawrence closed the season with multiple passing TDs in seven games.
Offensively, the Jags averaged 32.8 points per game over their last 10 games. Can you name the only team that averaged more during that span? The aforementioned Rams at 34.3.
Jacksonville’s doing it on defense, too. The Jags closed the season strong, yielding an average of just 16 points in their last four games.
Rookie head coach Liam Coen deserves credit for turning this franchise around in short order. Nobody should look forward to playing Jacksonville on the road to Super Bowl 60. Jacksonville would return twice the payout of favored Denver (+650) in the AFC by winning it all. We’ll take that bet.
Bet This Underdog: San Francisco 49ers (+2700)
The 49ers will be playing a home game if they reach Super Bowl 60. San Francisco is a bit banged up defensively, so we’re not as bullish on Brock Purdy and Co. But at these odds, the 49ers are worth a small toss given their offensive prowess.
Christian McCaffrey ranked second in the league in scrimmage yards this season with 2,126. Only Atlanta’s Bijan Robinson had more. CMC has accounted for 17 total TDs, with 10 rushing scores and seven through the air. He’s a matchup nightmare lining up in several different spots offensively.
McCaffrey helps open things up for other receiving threats, including Jauan Jennings (nine TDs) and George Kittle (seven TDs). There’s a lot to like about San Francisco, and perhaps the 49ers have one more home game to play this season.
