Hip-hop icon turned entrepreneur Snoop Dogg has worn many hats over his long career, but his latest business venture may surprise some fans: launching a sweepstakes casino. On January 15, Snoop Dogg and iGaming technology company Trivelta announced they had partnered to launch a free-to-play online casino operating under a sweepstakes model.
“For the first time, players can step into a casino built exactly the way I wanted it,” Snoop Dogg said in the release. “The music, the vibe, the games. I wanted something innovative, immersive, and fun, and Trivelta worked with Death Row Games to help me bring that to life.”
In the press release announcing the partnership, Trivelta described Dogg House Casino as a “first-of-its-kind, artist-led casino experience” that’s built around Snoop Dogg’s music, branding, and visual style.
“It’s rare to work with an artist who is this deeply involved in the product,” Trivelta CEO Carson Hubbard said. “Snoop shaped the look, sound, and feel of Dogg House Casino to create something that sits at the intersection of iGaming, music, and culture.”
Those interested in trying out Dogg House Casino can access it online or download the app in the Apple App Store and Google Play Store, where the platform is available to players in most U.S. states, except California, Connecticut, Idaho, Louisiana, Maryland, Michigan, Montana, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, and Tennessee.
The platform operates under a dual-currency sweepstakes model, allowing players to receive free virtual currency, with certain prizes redeemable for cash or cash equivalents where permitted by law.
Players must purchase Dogg Cash to play the games on the platform. However, users receive 1 Dogg Cash Daily and 1,000 Dogg Coins Daily, which the company says allows them to play without making a purchase.
Dogg House Casino Uses Sweeps Model Under Legal Scrutiny
With the launch of Dogg House Casino, Snoop is stepping into a controversial space. While it markets itself as a “free-to-play” platform, its structure makes it clear that it falls squarely within the sweepstakes casino category, a sector facing mounting legal challenges across the U.S.
The dual-currency system sweepstakes casinos use is a gambling loophole designed to avoid traditional gambling regulations, but courts and regulators are increasingly questioning whether the model functions as real-money gambling. As of late last year, sweepstakes casino operators have been hit with more than 80 class-action lawsuits nationwide, and the number has steadily gone up into the new year.
One of the most high-profile cases involves rapper Drake and streamer Adin Ross, who were sued alongside Stake.us over allegations that the platform operated as an illegal gambling site while being marketed as a lawful sweepstakes casino.
Although Dogg House Casino hasn’t been named in any lawsuits to date, its launch adds another celebrity-branded platform to the quickly expanding sector. As courts, regulators, and lawmakers continue to look at whether sweepstakes casinos cross the line into illegal gambling, high-profile partnerships like Snoop Dogg’s are likely to draw increased attention.
