The Michigan State Spartans meet the Minnesota Golden Gophers in a Big Ten matchup tonight in Minneapolis. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. ET on the Big Ten Network.
Minnesota (10-12 SU, 9-12-1 ATS) is riding a seven-game losing streak and ranks near the bottom of the conference standings at 3-8.
Michigan State (19-3 SU, 10-10-2 ATS) is coming off an 83-71 loss to rival Michigan. Full disclosure: We were on the wrong side of that outcome, but Jeremy Fears Jr. easily cashed our player prop for that game with 31 points.
Let’s take a different approach tonight by using player benchmarks on DraftKings Pick6, where you pick OVER or UNDER on a player’s points, rebounds, assists, etc.
Keep in mind that this is another high-margin product for the operator, and the parlay-style bet makes it harder to hit. As such, you can also consider betting on each individual prop at DraftKings Sportsbook.
Best MSU vs. Minnesota Player Props at DK Pick6
Here’s our top DraftKings Pick6 predictions for Michigan State vs. Minnesota. You can pick 2-6 players, including at least one player from each team. You can only bet on one stat for each player.
MSU G Jeremy Fears Jr. OVER 15.5 Points
As mentioned, Fears went off in a losing cause against Michigan. His OVER/UNDER for that game was set at 14.5. He more than doubled that with 31.
Michigan State is a defensive juggernaut but somewhat offensively challenged, and Fears scores out of necessity. He averages 14.9 ppg, with Jaxon Kohler at 13.1 ppg.
Fears has exceeded this number of points in five of his last six games. We’re banking on him again tonight.
Minnesota G Cade Tyson OVER 1.5 3-Pointers Made
Cade Tyson is one of Minnesota’s sharpshooters from long distance, making 38.5% of his attempts from behind the arc. That average is even better at home. Tyson’s mark climbs to 46.1% at Williams Arena.
Tyson has connected for at least a pair of 3-pointers in three of his last four games at home. Minnesota is relatively undersized down low, and it’ll need to be efficient from long range to keep this game tight. Tyson, a 6-foot-7 guard, should help that cause.
MSU C Carson Cooper OVER 9.5 Points
At 6-foot-11, Carson Cooper will benefit from a serious size advantage tonight. Minnesota’s tallest starter is three inches shorter than Carr.
While Carr was limited to six points against a terrific defense in Michigan — ranked No. 1 nationally at KenPom — he finished with double-digit points in four straight games prior to that. He’ll be a load for a smaller Minnesota team to deal with tonight.
Our $20 entry will pay a minimum of 5X, or $100, if all three picks hit. Unlike a winning bet at DraftKings Sportsbook, you don’t receive your stake back. That’s another reason to play these at the sportsbook.
