Nevada sportsbooks attracted approximately $133.8 million in bets on Super Bowl 60, marking the lowest handle since 2016, when $132.5 million was wagered on Broncos-Panthers.

Sportsbooks in the state won a net $9.9 million, off more than $12 million from last year’s record-setting performance for Eagles-Chiefs. The numbers reflect the realities of nationwide competition at online sportsbooks and prediction markets.

“You can legally bet on sports all over the country now, and it wasn’t the best matchup,” said John Murray, vice president of the Westgate SuperBook in Las Vegas. “It didn’t have the star power of some recent Super Bowls.”

There was a mixed bag of results for some of the most prominent sportsbooks in Las Vegas.

Kalshi Enjoys ‘Super’ Charged Volume of $1B+

This year’s Super Bowl marked the first to feature expansive betting menus at prediction markets, including Kalshi, where more than $1 billion was traded on the Big Game. That figure includes bets made on the Super Bowl throughout this season.

Prediction market tracker DeFi Rate reported that more than $475 million was traded on the Super Bowl winner and various props at Kalshi. Notably, Kalshi’s market volume for Bad Bunny’s first halftime song totaled $113 million.

The only downside for Kalshi on Super Bowl Sunday was an unprecedented surge in users attempting to deposit to wager on the Super Bowl, leaving many frustrated by delayed deposits.
