ChatGPT is now integrating Kalshi odds into its platform. The AI chatbot now references live markets on Kalshi after the company reportedly agreed to a deal with its parent company, OpenAI.

When asked to predict the first World Cup semifinal between Spain and France, ChatGPT immediately referenced Kalshi’s market and the current prices.

The companies have not formally announced a partnership. When contacted, Kalshi declined to comment.

Deal Appears Limited to World Cup, For Now

The New York Times reported that the deal is limited to World Cup markets but did not include any official confirmation.

It referenced a recent update to OpenAI’s corporate help web page stating that users “cannot place bets through ChatGPT.” It added that the partnership appears to be limited to using Kalshi data “for queries related to the 2026 World Cup.” OpenAI’s help pages also state that the data is “for informational purposes only.”

When asked whether it had an agreement to provide Kalshi data in its responses, ChatGPT denied any such deal, stating, “I don’t have any agreement, partnership, or obligation to provide Kalshi’s odds or promote its markets.”

It added, “If I mention Kalshi, it’s because it’s relevant to your question—for example, when discussing prediction markets, legal developments, or comparing available odds. I can also use odds from sportsbooks, exchanges, betting markets, or other publicly available sources when appropriate.”

Some Responses Contradict Kalshi Markets

When asked to predict the 2028 election, ChatGPT contradicted Kalshi’s market. It said the Republicans have a 55% chance and the Democrats have a 45% chance. Kalshi’s market, however, favors the Democrats.

ChatGPT did, however, provide a link to Kalshi’s market for the Republican nominee, stating, “Vice President JD Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio are widely discussed as leading Republican contenders, with prediction markets currently placing them among the favorites.”

When asked for other odds, it also cited other gambling companies, including Bet365, as sources.

Odds Integration Could Help Make Accurate Predictions

Over the first few weeks of the World Cup, we ran an experiment to test how well ChatGPT and Google’s Gemini could predict match outcomes.

I asked the chatbots to recommend a bet each day of the tournament and simulated the returns of a $10 stake. ChatGPT made an overall profit of $27.93 on $180 wagered. Gemini lost $72.31. ChatGPT performed better when it asked for odds data to inform its predictions.

Sportsbooks have also been experimenting with AI betting assistants. ChatBet is a dedicated AI chatbot betting assistant that is primarily partnering with gambling companies in Latin America.

FanDuel has launched Ace AI, a tool that assists bettors in placing wagers. DraftKings filed a patent for its own AI-powered bet assistant, but it was rejected. Nevertheless, it is likely to join FanDuel in integrating AI to its platform if it results in bettors engaging more.

In addition to the reported deal between OpenAI and Kalshi, the platform has made numerous agreements with news organizations to feature its data. Polymarket has similarly entered into several agreements, including one with Google.

When asked to provide prediction market data for tonight’s World Cup clash between France and Spain, Gemini referenced Polymarket rather than Kalshi.
