Rush Hour CCTV is a new gambling game that uses CCTV footage to let users bet on the number of vehicles that pass in front of the camera.
The game’s official site declares, “Real CCTV footage from around the world. AI counts vehicles and other things crossing detection zones in real-time. Players predict the outcome.”
It is being used on online casino platforms, including the crypto casino Roobet, to attract players who may have grown bored with slots or are drawn by the novelty.
Bet on Anything
Prediction markets have expanded “gambling” options considerably. Kalshi advertises as a platform where users can “bet on anything.” The site allows users to wager on the weather, rent prices, TV shows, and pretty much everything else.
Rival platform Polymarket offers perhaps an even broader range of markets, from military actions to whether a sex toy would be thrown onto the court during a WNBA game.
Gambling on CCTV footage of traffic might not, therefore, be particularly obscure.
Global Footage
The game allows users to wager on traffic coming from CCTV footage from several cities around the world. It uses a global pool of footage that includes famous cities such as Tokyo, Bangkok, New York City, London, Paris, and Bucharest. Each game, if users keep playing, will switch to a new location to avoid the same camera being used back-to-back.
The developers note, “Public traffic cameras, city webcams, and licensed feed providers. All footage shows public spaces — sourced through established partners who handle licensing and compliance.”

As with casino games, users can increase their odds by betting on exact figures. Landing the exact number of vehicles that appear pays out at 18-1. Other wagers include under a set number, which pays at 3 times the stake, and over, which pays at 3.6 times the stake.
In this way, the game is not all too dissimilar to wagering on spins of a roulette wheel or a slots game. The game lists an effective RTP of 91.50%–93.50%, making it closer to a fast fixed-odds loop than a traditional online slot.
The game was developed by 155 studios. CEO Sam Jones says the company adopts an innovative strategy to identify different things to bet on. He said, “I think it’s very hard to invent new games.”
The company previously released the game Fish Tank, where players bet on a live feed of a real coin being dropped into a real tank of water. Jones stated, “71% of the Earth’s surface is water. 73% of the human brain is water. And yet online casinos have zero games based on real water. We wanted to change that.”
