Desert Diamonds Casinos has launched the first phase of its sportsbook offering in partnership with Kambi, commencing operations in two locations in Arizona.
Kickstarting the product launch with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and lauding it as one of the few examples of a locally-operated Arizona sportsbook – with most sports betting operators originating from out-of-state – the company intends to reinvest profits from the Desert Diamond Sportsbook in the local area and offer a ‘personalised service’.
The opening phase will see the incorporation of betting kiosks into Desert Diamond Casino’s Sahuarita and West Valley locations, with six at the former and eight at the latter, featured near each respective venue’s sports bars.
Desert Diamond first acquired a licence for sports betting operations from the Arizona Department of Gaming in August, one of 10 Arizona Indian tribes permitted to do so.
“We are thrilled to offer a whole new level of gaming entertainment to our guests,” said Mike Bean, CEO of the Tohono O’odham Gaming Enterprise, representatives of which attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony along with delegates from the Tohono O’odham Nation.
“The new Desert Diamond Sportsbook will also add more excitement to our gaming floors, where there is something for everyone to enjoy. Hosting our own Sportsbook using the Kambi platform is unique in Arizona and ensures the more personalized service that is the hallmark of Desert Diamond Casinos.”
The regional gaming firm’s deal with Kambi in support of its sportsbook expansion was confirmed at the start of last month, with the Malta-based B2B sports betting services provider assisting Desert Diamond in several ways.
This included Kambi’s range of on-property services, including its kiosks and bring your own device technology as well as its in-event compatibility product, launched in September to coincide with the start of the 2021/22 NFL season.
Desert Diamond has outlined an ambition for greater sportsbook expansion across Arizona, detailing plans for greater integration of betting kiosks and live over-the-counter wagering services at the two aforementioned locations as well as at its Tucson venue.
Additionally, the company aims to launch an online sports betting offering, Desert Diamond Mobile LLC, in the near future, also leveraging Kambi’s services for the development of web-based wagering platforms.
