IllinoisDraftKings at Casino Queen has announced that the formal introduction of its permanent retail sportsbook will take place next week, almost two years since a temporary sports betting space debuted.

DraftKings, which entered an agreement that brought the rebranding of the former Casino Queen in July 2020, and CQ Holding Company, the property’s parent company, are to roll-out the 6,000 square foot sportsbook on Tuesday 29 March.

“With this comprehensive renovation, we are introducing a new era of sports betting, sports viewing and overall entertainment at DraftKings at Casino Queen,” said Terry Downey, president and CEO of CQ Holding Company.

“Our relationship with DraftKings has allowed us to create an all-encompassing, state-of-the-art space that will continue to add to Illinois’ excitement for sports wagering.”

The DraftKings at Casino Queen Sportsbook will be located steps away from the casino floor, and will feature live action across 31 oversized high-definition TVs and a 60-foot video board.

Furthermore, the sports betting space will also give players the opportunity to place wagers on a variety of betting markets across professional and collegiate sports via 38 kiosks and five betting windows, complete with what is billed as “the latest sports wagering technology”.

In addition, a variety of lounge-style seating options, private booths, stadium seating and VIP areas will be available to be utilised by casino patrons and sports fans.

“It’s exciting to see our shared vision of bringing DraftKings’ innovative mobile app to life with an incredible in-person experience at the new DraftKings at Casino Queen Sportsbook,” said Michael Kibort, Senior Director of Retail Sportsbooks at DraftKings.

“Through the amazing support of, and collaboration with, Casino Queen, we have created a premier destination for guests to enjoy for years to come.”
