Rory Kimber: we thought a North American theme was the way to go

The North American theme was the “way to go” according to 1X2 Network’s Account Manager & Marketing Director, Rory Kimber, who joined SlotBeats for its latest episode of Beyond the Reels

Delving into the company’s latest slot title – Wolf Strike: Hold and Win, a 5×3, 20-payline slot that incorporates a Hold and Win mini-game within the free spins feature, Kimber spoke on why the company decided on the North American theme, highlighting external movements within the industry.

“The Wolf Strike element of it is a North American theme in general,” Kimber noted. “Obviously no one in the online gambling industry at the moment is not talking about North America. We’re already live in Quebec, Canada, and soon to be in Ontario.

“As well, the US is opening up at quite a rate, so looking into a North American game, we thought a North American theme was the way to go.”

Delving into the Hold and Wins mechanic, triggered by landing six nuggets in the free spins mode, Kimber explained that this feature, along with attached static jackpots, is what “players are coming in for”.

Walking us through the Hold and Win round, Kimber said: “Alongside the nuggets, you can also have nuggets that hold the jackpot symbols, they still trigger the Hold and Win feature but you will also win the jackpots within the mini-game. Once you’ve triggered it, it’s more of a general Hold and Win round.

“If you double your win if you achieve the whole board. The jackpot, the little paws, you can win three, four or five, and there are three static jackpots on there, so you can trigger bigger and bigger jackpots.

“Hold and Wins in general can be triggered in one in 80 spins so you have some really good chances of getting wins and we’re seeing good session times on that.”

Kimber also went on to highlight the title’s free spins mode, what players can experience during the base game spins, as well as the future of the company and what the industry can expect to see from 1X2 Network in the near future.
