Holland Casino

Holland Casino has held an official grand opening for the latest addition to its land-based roster, despite the group’s Utrecht facility beginning operations during September 2021.

The festivities began as group CEO Petra de Ruiter took to the roulette table, with the debut swelling Holland Casino’s network of retail gaming establishments to 14.

During the ‘shine bright like a diamond’ opening ceremony, De Ruiter heaped praise on the newest location, which began construction in 2019 and has a total surface area of 11,000 metres squared with 653 slot machines and 41 gaming tables.

“Holland Casino Utrecht is not only the dazzling diamond on the ring of Utrecht where many guests spend a pleasant afternoon or evening, it is also one of the most sustainable casinos in Europe,” de Ruiter said. “That goes together very well.”

The location in Utrecht also boasts its own power plant with heat-cold storage. The heat that remains will soon be able to be used for the homes to be built in the area.

Furthermore, Holland Casino Utrecht has 700 solar panels on the roof and 24 charging points for electric bicycles and 62 charging points for electric cars in our parking garage.

“Since I started at Holland Casino on 1 September, I have personally experienced the hospitality of my colleagues. This festive evening was certainly no exception,” added de Ruiter.

“Our people provide a safe and responsible range of games in a hospitable environment. I look forward to meeting more colleagues and guests in the coming months and I hope that many people will come and see this beautiful location this opening weekend or after.”

Holland Casino Utrecht joins an array of fellow establishments in the company’s network, which also includes establishments in Amsterdam Central, Amsterdam West, Breda, Eindhoven, Enschede, Groningen, Leeuwarden, Nijmegen, Rotterdam, Scheveningen, Valkenburg, Venlo and Zandvoort.
