Betsoft, Swintt, NetEnt, High 5 and Yggdrasil: on the spin

As we approach the spookiest holiday of the year, the CasinoBeats team has been sifting through an abundance of slot titles that have hit our screens in the past week. Put your feet up as we take you through Betsoft’s Arabian escapade, Swintt’s monster mash, NetEnt’s board game bonanza and more.

Betsoft – Trinity Reels

Taking players to the middle east, Betsoft’s latest slot title sees symbols splitting across a 6×3 reel set, presenting 117,147 ways to win with high volatility and an RTP of 95.95 per cent.

Anastasia Bauer, Head of Account Management, Betsoft Gaming, stated: “Trinity Reels is a spectacular slot: it gives non-stop, high impact and immersive play. The win potential created by the splits across the grid is extraordinary.

“The more symbol splits that occur, the more branches are created leading to more paylines. Players are ever more receptive to high volatility slots and the deliberately wide betting range is designed to appeal across player levels. We anticipate a hugely positive response to Trinity Reels.”

Symbols on the first five reels can appear split into two or three symbols, implementing the increased amount of symbols into winning combinations to increase the win potential.

This is a cascading wins title, meaning that all symbols that fall on a winning combination will disappear after applying their payout, making way for new symbols to increase the win potential of an already successful spin.

With every cascade there is a chance to land mystery symbols. These will reveal identical symbols to enhance the win potential.

At the start of the free spins feature, one of the three bonus sixth reel symbols is randomly selected to appear more frequently for the duration of the free turns.

On the sixth reel, multi, wild and split boost bonus symbols can drop into play to enhance potential payouts. Multi-boost symbols reveal a multiplier of x2, x3, x5 or x10 to be applied to any paying combinations.

Wild boost can appear on the sixth reel, replacing one to two standard symbols on reels one to five with a three-split wild.

Furthermore, split boost causes two to three positions on the first five reels to split into double or triple symbols.

Swintt – Monster Disco XtraHold

Next up, Swintt has got into the Halloween spirit with its latest spooky slot release that hosts a deadly disco. With 5×4 reels and 25 win lines, this slot offers an RTP of 94.97 per cent with a high volatility.

David Mann, Chief Executive Office at Swintt, said: “To get players in the mood to raise some hell this Halloween, Swintt are inviting all slot wizards, witches and warlocks to come and shake their stuff on the haunted dancefloor of Monster Disco XtraHold – a spooky new slot in the Swintt Select range.

“Boasting the popular XtraHold mechanic that we debuted a few months ago in Mystic Bear XtraHold and a free spins feature that comes with colossal 3×4 mega symbols, the slot promises all players a ghoulishly good time and a series of monster prizes that are large enough to wake the dead.”

During the base game, if the player lands either three, four or five super scatters in a single spin, it will trigger the free spins mode, awarding players with five, eight or 10 free spins respectively.

During the free spins feature, the game’s central three reels will be merged to create a giant 3×4 mega symbol, with this making it easier to land five-of-a-kind combos and trigger the slot’s pay-outs.

Furthermore, landing three or more additional scatter symbols will also re-trigger the free spins, expanding the player’s play time.

The gold vinyl disc symbol, meanwhile, will activate the game’s signature XtraHold feature – a bonus that first debuted in Mystic Bear XtraHold. In order to trigger this extra, players will need to land at least six gold discs anywhere on the reels, at which point they’ll all spin around to reveal cash prizes and an initial batch of three re-spins will be awarded.

During the XtraHold feature, the re-spins counter will reduce by one after each new round, but landing any subsequent gold disc will see it reset as players continue spinning. This process will carry on until either no new vinyls are added, or players successfully fill all 20 reel spaces – at which point the Monster Disco Mega Bonus prize of x10,000 bet will be awarded.

NetEnt – Superstars

NetEnt has rolled the dice with its latest slot release that has an RTP of 96.08 per cent and medium-high volatility. The slot starts with a 5×5 reel set with 45-paylines, but the aim of the game is to access the hold and win bonus board game.

With the free spins feature, three spins are awarded to the player as the diamonds that triggered the feature turn into random multipliers.

These multipliers stay sticky on the reels while only other multipliers can land on the reels. Each additional multiplier that lands on the reels resets the number of spins to three.

If a dice symbol lands on the reels with two or more scatters, it will substitute as a scatter to also trigger the free spins hold and win game.

Surrounding the hold and win game mode is a board game set, with bonus features that can be activated as the triggering dice is rolled to show a number.

This number decides how many spaces a game piece will travel around the board, with different features represented by NetEnt characters available to affect the hold and win game.

When the piece goes all the way around the board then the extra life feature is activated, allowing the hold and win game to reset to three or four spins whenever the game is about to end.

The game piece can also land on a wheel feature. This presents a game wheel to the player, which can be spun to win extra dice, characters features, upgraded multipliers and feature replays.

When a player fills all spaces in the hold and win game mode, they are taken to the final bonus game. In this feature, the board game set showcases multiplier values between x25 and x1,000.

High 5 Games – Cannon Cove

High 5 Games’ latest underwater slot release pits players against a hungry Kraken on a 5×5 reel set with medium volatility and an RTP between 90 and 97.2 per cent. The game uses a ‘what you see is what you get’ format using the brand’s spin-crease mechanic.

Jerry Wilson, VP Creative at High 5 Games for Cannon Cove, explained: ”All Aboard this pirate adventure! Cannon Cove is packed with features like Spin-Crease upgrading symbols, Unique ships with different abilities for the player and game changing power ups as you battle ghostly pirates on mysterious seas.

“Even trigger the Bonus bossfight with a giant octopus you can battle for big wins. Get ready to be amazed by Cannon Cove, as beyond huge rewards, packs a ton of excitement, an outstanding visual approach, and sound effects that will delight.”

During the WYSIWYG feature, every spin can bring a cannon to the bottom of a column, where it will shoot upwards. Whenever it hits a symbol, there is a chance to win a WYSIWYG, and the value is displayed. The values are in the symbols themselves, rather than in combinations, lines or ways.

Moving forward, the Shooting Power round includes four types of cannons that grant shooting power; one shot, two shot, four shots or a full column shot.

In the game’s Spin-Crease sound, players must collect blue crystals to fill the meter and upgrade symbols values or get more powerful cannons. The higher the bet, the quicker Spin-Crease happens.

Moreover, when the player destroys symbols, they can potentially collect red crystals to fill the meter and achieve sticky power-ups to hit more symbols in one go, or to multiply their winnings.

During the bonus round, a sticky power-up is added on every off spin and will remain for the entire bonus until they are hit by a shot.

Players will enter the bonus mode whenever a Kraken tentacle at the top of the reels is hit, with the user being awarded 10 free spins.

Yggdrasil – Florageddon! DuoMax

Gardens can often be a place of serenity and mindfulness, but not in Yggdrasil’s latest spine-tingling slot release. With a 5×3 reel set and 243-paylines, this game sees players battle against sharp-fanged plants, showcasing an RTP of 96 per cent with a high volatility.

Stuart McCarthy, Head of Product & Programs at Yggdrasil, said: “We’re thrilled to launch our first DuoMax title, Florageddon! It expands our GEMs offering to seven mechanics now, while also bringing a brand new gaming experience to our players.

“We’re very excited to expand the boundaries of innovation with our new and bold product offerings, and Florageddon! is another great addition to our portfolio.”

With each consecutive cascading win, two multipliers can increase at each side of the reels. The multiplier to the left is affected by left to right wins and the right multiplier by right to left wins. These multipliers increase when cascading wins flow through to their respective sides but will reset once the consecutive cascading wins end.

There is a cascading win meter above the reels that awards varied special features if four consecutive wins occur. One of these features is double wild, which introduces two wilds instead of one after each subsequent cascading win.

Another feature that can be awarded is a multiplier boost that adds x10 to each multiplier. Wild stack can also be awarded, adding three wilds to the board and causing three more wilds to drop in after any more cascading wins.

During the free spins game mode, the side multipliers do not reset for the duration of the free spins. When triggering the free spins, players can choose to gamble for more spins than they are awarded.

Furthermore, players can be awarded the extra life feature where any non-winning spin causes all symbols to be removed as new cascading symbols drop in for another chance at receiving a payout.
