BetMGM has agreed to become the first official sports betting partner of the Boston Red Sox ahead of the launch of mobile sports betting in Massachusetts.

Through the deal, Fenway Park will feature BetMGM signage including on the iconic Green Monster, the ballpark’s left field wall. The operator will also have a suite at the stadium and provide VIP experiences such as premium seat access at batting practice, alumni appearances and ceremonial first pitches.

The Red Sox’s and BetMGM’s digital and social platforms will also carry co-branded content.

Matt Prevost, Chief Revenue Officer at BetMGM, commented: “The Red Sox are one of baseball’s most beloved organizations and we’re thrilled to bring BetMGM to their passionate fans. We look forward to working together to elevate the gameday experience in Boston.”

Alongside being the Red Sox’s first sports betting partner, the partnership is also BetMGM’s debut relationship with a Massachusetts sports team.

“The Boston Red Sox are proud to partner with BetMGM as we prepare to enter a new era of professional sports betting in Massachusetts,” noted Troup Parkinson, Executive Vice President of Partnerships at Boston Red Sox.

“Given our strong relationship with MGM Resorts, BetMGM was the clear choice to become the first sports betting partner of the club, and we look forward to them offering sports betting opportunities to our fans in a safe and responsible manner.”

MGM Resorts’ relationship with the Red Sox stretches beyond this sports betting deal, as the operator also has a multi-year official resort casino partnership with the team.

Fenway Sports Group, the owner of the Red Sox, also selected MGM as the naming rights partner of the MGM Music Hall at Fenway.

“As host of the annual Red Sox Winter weekend, MGM Springfield has become a destination for New England baseball fans,” added Chris Kelley, President & COO, Northeast Group, MGM Resorts.

“With sports betting now legal in Massachusetts, we remain committed, through GameSense, to offering an enjoyable and responsible experience for our guests, customers and MGM Rewards members.”

Earlier this month, MGM Resorts and BetMGM extended their contract with the British Columbia Lottery Corporation and its responsible gaming program GameSense for an additional five years.
