SBC is excited to announce that the shortlists for the 10th-anniversary edition of the SBC Awards 2023 ceremony, taking place as part of the SBC Summit Barcelona in September, have now been decided.
The shortlists feature some of the industry’s finest, acknowledging outstanding performance by various operators, affiliates, suppliers and leaders. Betsson Group leads with an impressive nine nominations, closely followed by Sportradar, 1xBet, and Evoplay, each securing seven nominations. Kaizen Gaming boasts six nominations, while OpenBet, CreedRoomz, and Novibet each earn five nominations.
The 2023 edition attracted a record number of entries, giving the independent judging panel the tough task of shortlisting for the 39 categories.
The prestigious ceremony crowning the winners will take place on Thursday, 21st September, the final day of the SBC Summit Barcelona, at the iconic Caves Codorníu, the oldest leading cava company in Spain.
In the affiliate awards categories, BetanDeal, Betting Hero, casino.online, Checkd Group, Gambling.com Group, and XLMedia have all received nominations in two out of the three existing categories – Affiliate Product Innovation, Casino Affiliate of the Year, and Sports Affiliate of the Year. Notably, last year’s winners, Gambling.com Group for Casino Affiliate of the Year and Better Collective for Sports Affiliate of the Year, are once again competing for the respective titles.
Twelve operators will vie for the coveted Casino Operator of the Year award, and last year’s winner, Betsson Group will be among the nominees. In the Sportsbook Operator of the Year category, eleven companies, including last year’s trophy holder bet365, will compete for the prize, while Betsson Group, Kaizen Gaming, LeoVegas Group, Novibet, and Sisal Italia have been nominated for both awards.
Other operator categories encompass Esports Operator, Best Affiliate Program, Eastern European/Western European/Northern European/Southern European Operator, Rising Star in Sports Betting/Casino, Innovation in Casino & Gaming Entertainment and Marketing Campaign.
In the three Payment & Compliance categories – Fraud & Compliance Solution, Payment Innovation, and Payment Solution – Aircash, MiFinity, Trustly, OKTO, and Pay4Fun have each been shortlisted twice. Last year’s winners, Trustly (Payment Innovation of the Year & Payment Solution of the Year) and IDnow (Fraud and Compliance Solution of the Year) are once again in contention for the same categories.
In the supplier categories, the Casino/Slots Developer of the Year category features 16 game developers vying for the coveted trophy. The shortlist includes submissions from companies such as Amusnet, Endorphina, Pragmatic Play, Yggdrasil, and Relax Gaming.
The Sportsbook Supplier of the Year category boasts 12 nominees, while there are 16 more categories recognising acquisition and retention partners, esports suppliers, industry innovation, land-based betting & gaming products, live casino suppliers, multi-channel suppliers, platform solutions, sports data products, virtual sports suppliers, white label solutions, and marketing & services providers.
Additionally, there will be two rising star categories (Rising Star in Casino Innovation and Rising Star in Sports Betting Innovation) acknowledging up-and-coming players who are making a significant impact in the industry.
In the Operator & Supplier Awards, Betsson Group, Bragg Gaming, Entain Foundation US, EPIC Risk Management, Mindway AI, OPAP and Videoslots are all contenders for the Socially Responsible Initiative of the Year award.
The Leader of the Year award will be contested by 19 industry leaders from companies like Flutter International, Greentube, Sportingtech, PIN-UP Global and Evoplay. Additionally, 16 companies will vie for the prestigious Employer of the Year award.
