Flutter Entertainment has announced that Richard Flint will not be standing for re-election and will be stepping down from the company’s board of directors later this year.

Stepping down following the conclusion of Flutter’s annual general meeting on May 1, Flint has been a member of the company’s board since March 2020 following the merger between Flutter and The Stars Group.

Commenting on Flint’s departure, Flutter Chair, John Bryant, stated: “The board wishes to thank Richard for the considerable value and strategic insights he has brought to Flutter during his tenure and acknowledge his tremendous contribution to the development of the Sky Bet business since its inception in 2001. We wish him success in the future.”

Before joining Flutter, Flint was the Executive Chair of Sky Betting & Gaming from November 2018 until October 2019. He was also the CEO of the operator from March 2014 until it was acquired in 2018 by TSG.

Flint’s departure from Flutter’s board comes as the company continues to work towards its listing on the New York Stock Exchange with an expected launch date of January 29.

In a statement as part of Flutter’s third-quarter trading update, CEO Peter Jackson stated that the US listing would “bring the group significant benefits from accessing the world’s deepest and most liquid capital markets” as the group has “significant potential for US growth”.
