LeoVegas Group has appointed Carl Brincat as its new Director of Policy and Regulatory Affairs at the group’s Sliema offices.

Effective from August, Brincat will report to Abby Cosgrave, LeoVegas’ Chief Legal and Compliance Officer. He will be in charge of managing and overseeing relationships with market regulators and authorities from across the group’s future international markets.

In addition, Brincat will lead LeoVegas’ policy efforts and coordinate relationships with industry trade bodies to support the group’s expansion globally.

“I’m very happy to welcome Carl Brincat to LeoVegas Group,” commented Cosgrave on Brincat’s appointment.

“He brings an impressive wealth of experience from his tenure at the Malta Gaming Authority, which will be a great asset as we continue to rapidly expand internationally.”

Before joining LeoVegas, Brincat worked for the Malta Gaming Authority for nine years in various positions, most recently as Chief Executive Officer before leaving the organisation earlier this year in January

He is also a lawyer, having graduated from the University of Malta, and has been admitted to the Maltese bar.

Commenting on his appointment, Brincat added: “I’m very excited to be joining LeoVegas Group. I have witnessed firsthand the Group’s growth from a newly founded challenger company into a leader in igaming, with strong brands and a significant focus on offering gaming in a safe yet entertaining way.

“The LeoVegas ethos aligns with my own, and I can’t wait to lead the team in supporting the plans to expand commercially whilst continuing to enhance the already excellent relationships with regulators and policymakers around the globe.”
