Rami Nahum, Co-Founder and CEO of 4Play Gaming, spoke with us ahead of the forthcoming SBC Summit Lisbon to highlight the company’s unique strengths and the way in which it brings fresh ideas to the igaming industry.

For those among our audience who are unfamiliar with 4Play Gaming, can you summarise what the brand is about and where it fits within the gaming industry?

We established 4play Gaming after many years in the industry where we found out that the entire gaming sector is lagging way behind other industries in two main domains, technology and business model. While the technology is left to traditional multi tenancy platforms (one platform instance serves many operators) with a patch on patch approach, we decided to offer the most cutting edge technology existing and with an event-based system which uses AI for many features and replaces algorithms which don’t always dynamically answer the need to adjust to the specific player.

As for the business model, instead of offering revenue sharing, we made the same transition that other industries did years ago to a subscription fee model. This transition gives back control to the operator over planning long-term budget and confidentiality on his financial performance.

We offer to our operators turnkey casinos, crypto-based casinos and sportsbooks, while allowing our operators to choose their preferred game, CRM, and payment providers. We also offer managed services like sports trading, customer support, and KYC compliance in order to cater to operators that would like to have 360 degrees of covering their operations.

What is unique about the fixed-fee model and why is it better than the traditional revenue sharing-based model?

The fixed-fee model allows operators to better plan their annual expenses and take control over their business. Unlike revenue sharing, it is not performance-based, which means as operators grow, they won’t face increasing fees. Additionally, since 4Play Gaming doesn’t charge based on performance, operators maintain full control over their financial results and operations without having to disclose their financial performance to 4Play Gaming or to anyone else outside of their organisation.

Tell us about the formation of the company. What was the reason for establishing 4Play and who are the main people behind it?

Both Josh Shoham and I played major roles in SBTech’s R&D. When we set out to build our platform, we aimed to bring fresh ideas to the industry, both technologically and business-wise. We recruited talent strategically, focusing on what to retain and improve. Our first decision was to create an event-based architecture, making our platform unique and innovative. Secondly, we shifted from the traditional revenue-sharing model to a subscription fee, allowing operators to succeed without financial penalties based on performance, fostering a fairer and more supportive environment.

A cursory glance at your website indicates that you offer a lot of services, specifically igaming; turnkey casino; crypto casino; and sportsbook. Can you share more details about those products and what makes them stand out from the competition?

At 4play Gaming, we’ve redefined what it means to be a leader in the igaming industry.
