OpenBet has been selected by Bell Ventures Digital to power BandBet, the company’s igaming and sports betting brand in the Brazilian regulated market.

Bell Ventures is entering the market with the BandBet brand, licensed from Grupo Bandeirantes de Comunicação. Currently in its soft launch phase, the company has been authorised by Brazil’s Ministry of Finance to operate BandBet during the transition period following the terms of Ordinance 1475/24.

Brazil’s regulated igaming market is expected to launch early next year. Bell Ventures applied for a federal license with the Ministry of Finance in August and it expects to be granted a licence by 31 December 2024.

Jordan Levin, CEO of OpenBet, stated: “At OpenBet, we pride ourselves on supporting leading brands with the highest standards in the industry. By leveraging our comprehensive betting ecosystem, BandBet will offer an outstanding player experience, positioning itself as a leader in Brazil’s emerging gaming space.

“We look forward to supporting BandBet’s growth and furthering our mission to help operators thrive in this rapidly evolving market.”

Through the agreement, OpenBet will provide its complete end-to-end sports betting and igaming service inclusive of player account management to BandBet, supplying technology, content and compliance infrastructure to the operator to meet Brazil’s newly regulated market requirements.

The supplier will also provide its online casino service to the operator, featuring a “cutting-edge” user interface, access to content from a variety of gaming studios and a unified platform for managing promotions across both sports betting and igaming.

OpenBet’s player account management platform will assist BandBet with safe gaming practices, utilising Neccton-powered responsible gaming and anti-money laundering technology to enforce high player protection standards.

BandBet will also be supported with compliance in Brazil by the OpenBet Locator, a geolocation solution powered by Amazon Web Services.

“Partnering with OpenBet was a natural choice,” commented Ricardo Bianco Rosada, Board Member of Bell Ventures.

“Their unrivalled expertise in the global betting industry will ensure BandBet is built on a state-of-the-art platform. Their ‘open’ system, integrating sports and igaming, equips us with the flexibility and tools to thrive in a regulated, competitive market while ensuring responsible growth.”

Present for over 87 years, Band is one of the biggest media conglomerates in Brazil with an extensive network of free-to-air television, PayTV, radio and digital platforms providing a variety of content, including sports, news and entertainment, reaching millions daily.

In addition to BandBet licensing, Bell Ventures has agreed to acquire media space from Band.

Claudio Giordani, CEO of Band, added: “For decades, Band has been synonymous with high-quality entertainment in Brazil, and our sports coverage has been a key driver of our success.

“We are excited that Bell Ventures decided to enter the market with a brand licensed from our media group, as Band consistently contributes to international and local companies entering Brazil’s economy.”
