DraftKings is launching a Responsible Gaming Education Month (RGEM) campaign, offering sweepstakes with prizes like NFL tickets and a trip to Super Bowl 60 to customers who engage with the operator’s suite of responsible play tools.
The month-long campaign kicks off on August 26 and runs through September, and is structured around weekly sweepstakes. Lori Kalani, Chief Responsible Gaming Officer at DraftKings, called RGEM a fun and engaging way for customers to explore the responsible gaming tools:
“As a leading operator, we are committed to providing customers with tools that support responsible play and enhance their experience. This campaign recognizes and celebrates customers who use these resources, helping to foster a more informed and responsible gaming culture.”
How the Campaign Works
The sweepstakes offers multiple entry opportunities throughout the month, each tied to the use of DraftKings’ responsible gaming features:
- Weeks 1 & 2 (Aug. 26–Sep. 8): Customers who use the My Budget Builder tool can enter to win NFL regular-season tickets. The new tool allows players to create a personalized spending plan and track their activity against that budget.
- Mid-Campaign: Additional entry chances await those who set reminders or explore the Smart Betting Tips tool within the Responsible Gaming Center.
- Final Week: Users who reflect on their habits via My Stat Sheet, which provides personalized statistics on wagering history, session duration, and spending patterns, can enter the sweepstakes for the grand prize: a trip to Super Bowl 60.
DraftKings also highlights the early success of the My Budget Builder tool, launched in June 2025. That tool builds on My Stat Sheet, which has been used by approximately 3.4 million customers since its launch a year ago.
In addition to the sweepstakes, DraftKings is also introducing a new Code of Responsible Play ahead of the NFL season. The code provides guidelines on how to “play responsibly, respect everyone involved in the game, and above all, have fun.”
Early Exit Refund Program
The RGEM campaign is not the only new initiative by DraftKings ahead of the football season. Earlier this month, the operator launched Early Exit, a program that refunds customers when a player leaves due to injury during the early stages of a game.
DraftKings has set an “Early Exit Window” for various sports. For the NFL, it protects a bet if a player leaves in the first quarter.
Affected customers will receive a cash credit in the form of a single prop bet. For parlays, they will receive cash credit based on recalculated odds if all remaining legs win.
DraftKings positioned the program as part of its responsible gaming framework. It aims to give customers more confidence that bets won’t be lost solely due to early injuries. Recently, there has been a series of high-profile investigations into athletes’ involvement in sports betting scandals, including the fabrication of injuries.
Credit Card Deposit Ban
Another recent DraftKings policy change is the prohibition of credit card deposits for sportsbook and casino play. The operator cited the change, which took effect on August 25, as a way to help customers avoid high-interest and cash-advance fees associated with credit card funding.
However, many point out the decision could have been a result of heightened regulatory scrutiny, including a $450,000 fine from the Massachusetts Gaming Commission a few weeks earlier over violations tied to credit card use.
Customers can still deposit funds using various payment methods, including debit cards, bank transfers, PayPal, Venmo, and Apple Pay.
