Betr is entering the NFL season with a “major revamp” of its daily fantasy sports (DFS) pick ’em product, Betr Picks, highlighted by multipliers that can pay up to 10,000 times the entry.

The enhancement arrives alongside the recent launch of Betr Arcade, a new skill-games product available in 29 states.

Revamped Betr Picks

The company announced that Betr Picks’ redesign includes a new interface, expanded sports coverage, including the WNBA and top global soccer leagues, “significantly more” projections on the offered sports, and multipliers providing payouts of up to 10,000 times the original bet.

A new “Mystery Multiplier” can boost two-pick entries, which typically return 3x prizes, to as high as 1,000 times the original prize.

To mark the launch, Betr is offering $10 in free play to new users with no deposit required during the first two weeks of the NFL season. Also, new users are eligible for a 50% deposit match up to $200. Meanwhile, existing users will receive an unspecified deposit match for each of the first two weeks of the NFL season.

Regulatory Note: Betr Picks Still Live in California

Notably, Betr Picks are still available in California, even after Attorney General Rob Bonta‘s July legal opinion raised doubts about the legality and future of pick’ em-style DFS. In his opinion, Bonta declared all DFS illegal, even peer-to-peer.

Still, most operators, including Underdog and PrizePicks, decided to pivot their strategy in the state by discontinuing their against-the-house pick ’em product and instead offering only peer-to-peer products.

The change allows DFS operators to argue that peer-to-peer fantasy removes the house as a participant and that it is a private contest of skill, not governed by gambling laws.

However, while others are seeking to soften regulatory enforcement scrutiny, it appears that Betr is playing the waiting game before deciding whether to change its strategy.

Betr Arcade Skill Game

Alongside the upgrades to its Picks product, the company has launched Betr Arcade, “skill games” offered in 29 states. The launch consists of four games: 21, Fruit Match, Crossout 21, and 5 Across. The company promises more will be rolled out in the coming weeks.

Contest entries start at $1.25, and players can practice before entering real-money contests against others.

Betr co-founder Jake Paul promoted the launch through a social media video showcasing one of the games, 21.

Rival DFS Moves: PrizePicks’ NFL Jackpot

Betr’s NFL rollout comes just a day after rival DFS operator PrizePicks announced the launch of a $1 million free-to-play NFL jackpot contest.

In this contest, each Sunday ahead of the NFL games, players must predict the first touchdown scorers in select games. Those who correctly pick all eight will win a share of a $1 million cash jackpot.

Meanwhile, the rest can continue participating in a leaderboard for additional shares of the prize pool. Even some of those who didn’t win will receive a consolation prize. For making at least one correct selection, they can win prizes such as payout boosts and free lineups.

Everyone Wants In on The NFL Season

DFS operators are not alone in using the NFL season to expand content and reach new audiences.

Real money sportsbook BetMGM recently announced enhancements to its app. The upgrades will allow “a faster, more seamless way to build wagers, place bets, and earn rewards.” Meanwhile, PENN Entertainment, the operator of ESPN Bet, announced a multi-year partnership with the Chicago Bears. That includes ESPN Bet being named the official sportsbook of the team.

Prediction market platforms are also getting involved in the action. Kalshi recently self-certified prediction markets for point spreads, totals, and touchdown props for NFL and NCAAF games.

Meanwhile, investing and trading platform Robinhood announced the expansion of its federally regulated event contracts to include football.

The NFL itself is also making moves. It recently announced a new deal with Aristocrat Leisure‘s social casino subsidiary Product Madness to launch the NFL Super Bowl Slots free-to-play slot.

The app is available on iOS and Android globally. It features NFL branding, real game video footage, and various tasks, including “Daily Drills.”
