Monday Night Football returns tonight with the Arizona Cardinals taking on the Dallas Cowboys. ABC and ESPN have live coverage with kickoff set for 8:15 p.m. ET at AT&T Stadium.
Dallas (3-4-1 SU, 4-4 ATS) ranks second in the NFL in scoring with 30.3 points per game. Arizona (2-5 SU, 4-3 ATS) will be without starting QB Kyler Murray (foot) for the third straight game. Jacoby Brissett gets the start again for the Cardinals.
The Cowboys are a 3.5-point home favorite with a total of 53.5 at DraftKings. As usual, the public is all over the chalk with 74% of the spread handle and 80% of tickets on the Cowboys.
Best MNF Bet Against the Spread
Cowboys -3 (-118 at FanDuel)
As good as Dallas is on offense, its defense is equally horrid. The ‘Boys rank 31st of 32 NFL teams in allowing 31.3 points per game. Denver demolished Dallas 44-24 last week, scoring the most points against the Cowboys in a single game this season.
We’re not thrilled with laying three and a hook given those deficiencies on defense. That’s what DraftKings offered at the time of publication. We opted for -3 with added juice at FanDuel. The Cardinals have lost two consecutive games by four points and their last three outright with Murray on the sidelines.
Dallas is a different offensive beast at home, too. The Cowboys have averaged 41.3 ppg at Jerry’s World:
- Cowboys 40 Giants 37
- Cowboys 40 Packers 40
- Cowboys 44 Commanders 22
Best MNF Bet on Total (OVER/UNDER)
OVER 53.5 (-115)
We’re banking on Brissett to have another solid outing against one of the league’s worst defenses. He threw for two TDs in close losses to Green Bay and Indianapolis the past two weeks. Those are two of the NFL’s top teams.
Dak Prescott & company are perfectly capable of putting up 40+ points again, meaning the Cardinals need just a pair of TDs to push this over the total. That’s not a lot to ask against a Dallas defense that ranks second-worst in passing defense, total yards, and points allowed.
Best Player Prop for Cowboys
Jake Ferguson Anytime TD Scorer (+115 at DraftKings)
Jake Ferguson had his worst game of the season last week against a good Denver defense. We’re expecting Ferguson to bounce back in a big way after failing to record a catch against the Broncos. Look at what he did in the four previous games:
- 7 catches, 29 yards, 2 TDs vs. Commanders
- 3 catches, 33 yards, 1 TD vs. Panthers
- 7 catches, 49 yards, 2 TDs vs. Jets
- 7 catches, 40 yards, 1 TD vs. Packers
The Cardinals have given up 68.7 receiving yards per game to tight ends this year, including three catches for TDs. Prescott loves to seek out Ferguson in the red zone, and it’d be no surprise to see them connect again tonight.
Best Player Prop for Cardinals
Bam Knight ATTD Scorer (+150 at DraftKings)
Trey Benson (knee) has been out for over a month now. This is a nice plus-money price for Bam Knight, who has taken over the lead RB role. Knight has garnered 25 carries over the past two games. More importantly, he’s got seven red-zone carries in the past three. Knight turned two of those carries into TDs.
Like most aspects of its defense, Dallas is terrible in the red zone. Expect double-digit carries again for Knight, who’s Arizona’s best bet to score near the goal line.
