College football rolls on tonight with some MAC-tion featuring in-state rivals Miami (OH) and Ohio. This is a potential preview of the MAC championship game, and ESPN2 has live coverage starting at 7 p.m. ET.

Miami (5-3 SU, 6-2 ATS) sits atop the conference standings with a perfect 4-0 record. Ohio (5-3 SU, 4-3-1 ATS) is 3-1 in MAC play after last week’s 28-21 win over Eastern Michigan.

The Bobcats are a slight 2.5-point favorite at home with a total of 49.5 at DraftKings, with 86% of the handle on the OVER tonight. 70% of tickets are on Miami as the home favorite to cover the spread.

Miami vs. Ohio Best Bet: Against the Spread

Ohio -2.5 (-118 at DraftKings)

Miami quarterback Dequan Finn is a dual threat capable of beating you with his arm and legs. Finn has thrown for 1,257 yards and seven TDs. He’s also second among all RedHawks in rushing with 384 yards and added four touchdowns on the ground.

Miami features a run-first offense, led by RB Jordan Brunson and Finn. They will be aided by an Ohio defense yielding five yards per carry against FBS foes.

After starting the season 0-3, the RedHawks have ripped off five consecutive wins. The defense has allowed just 13.6 points per game during the winning streak.

Ohio has been nearly unbeatable at home in recent years. The Bobcats are 23-1 at Peden Stadium since 2022. The one loss during that span came against Miami.

Like Finn, Ohio QB Parker Navarro is a capable runner. He’s rushed for 500+ yards and four TDs on the season. He’s also thrown for 1,786 yards and 11 touchdowns. The downside? Navarro has been sacked 15 times and picked off on seven occasions.

WR Chase Hendricks is Navarro’s top target. He leads Ohio with 805 yards and six TD catches. The Bobcats have a balanced attack, and RB Sieg Bangura leads the ground game with 728 rushing yards and nine TDs.

This should be an entertaining game. Give us the Bobcats -2.5 at home.

  • 57 catches
