The investigation is ongoing following the discovery of two deceased individuals in a Borgata Atlantic City hotel room. The bodies were found just before 5 p.m. on November 23, according to the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office.
Details are Currently Sparse
What’s known so far is that the deceased individuals were Baoyi Bowie Zheng, a 36-year-old from Staten Island, and Wei Guo Liang, a 68-year-old from Brooklyn. Autopsy reports state that Zheng died from a broken neck, while Liang died from self-inflicted stab wounds.
There is currently no listed motive, and no further details regarding the incident or the crime scene itself have been released. There is also no assumption as to whether or not foul play was involved at this time.
There is a professional poker player who shares the name of Wei Guo Liang and who won a WSOP bracelet in 2018. However, it’s a common name, and it seems unlikely that they are the same person. Card Player lists the player’s residence as Shanghai, not Brooklyn, and the only U.S. tournament cashes on his resume have been during major series in Las Vegas.
